MSU bought a home game with them a year or so ago...

to finish off the 2013 nonconference schedule since we'd planned to play Valley. The UAB game next year that was given up/postponed/whatever was a scheduled road game.

Troy

Would rather have kept UAB than Troy. Troy's entire offense returns minus two OL and one out of about their top 10 WR. Defense is a little worse in that they lose 4 including 2 in the secondary. They return 15 plus a damn good coach. I don't like scheduling them. They are like a USM, Houston, LaTech, etc. does nothing for you to beat the **** out of them but every once in awhile they are good enough to jump up and make you look stupid.

I agree.....

but it being at home will help us. won't get lured to sleep. That QB will be back as well as a senior, which sucks. Good thing is we'll have a Sr. QB will a veteran OL and RB stable so hopefully the threat will be minimal. I'm worried our DBs will get torched but then again our DL will likely be better. Boyd leaves but Quay and Nick James a year older should make up for that. Expect Autry to wreak havoc next year too. We'll win by 14.

If we did that, we wouldn't have seven home games

The only other option would have been to drop Troy and try to get UAB to move their game to Starkville or play six home games. Moving the UAB game to 2014 is the easist thing to do as well as the cheapest.

Ole Miss should replace MS Valley on the D-1AA rotation for The MSU

So they're having a season where they upset 3 Division I-A teams...big deal. Their coaches are going to be fired anyway. It HAS to be embarrassing to lose to such a smalltime skool like the university of ole miss.
