One question I have. The rule says
No field marking may obscure any portion of any yard line, sideline, or goal line. Each line in its entirety must be clearly visible to the officials on the field.

Doesn't the midfield logo on every football field obscure a part of the 50-yard line?

The logos absolutely obscure part of the 50 yard line. The SEC Logo on the 25's obscure those lines as well.

I'm surprised the NCAA would make a rule that doesn't make sense**

You can still put logo on the field and it can be a large as you want, it just can't obscure the yard line makers. So now when you look at the Tiger Eye on LSU Field it will look like it is in jail. The lines will have to be white and on top of the logo. If LSU continues to do it with the new rule.

Speaking of LSU's field. Aren't they the ones who number every yard line instead of every other one? As in they have the 5, 15, 25, 35 yard lines etc. marked with the number as well?
