MSU Track Coaching Shake-up

I realize track isn't a hot topic, but can anyone shed light on what's going on with the staff shake-up? It just seems kind of odd that Schmidt/MSU had arguably his best season in as long as I can remember and he's now "reassigned" to basically making sure the infield is mowed. Was it a case where Dudley was the "brains behind the organization" all along and had been offered a head coaching job by another school?

Just curious. Seems like something had to happen to prompt this reshuffling.

I think you answered your own question. Plus the guy promoted may be the one bringing in the talent now and we didn't want to lose him?

Dudley= aggressive recruiter and coach Schmidt = in the way

Excellent way to handle it and retain a tremendous young coach while not completely alienating the long term coach.

You know Bama isn't going to hire a MSU coach..it's always the reverse...we hire the bama has beens.

Seriously though..I dont see that...If you are worried about losing your coach you dont move him out of being the head coach slot and give him the title "Director"

Who said it was Schmidt they might have wanted?

When I was in school, Dudley came into my Geography class each Friday to give us our "map test". I guess he was a grad student then.<div>
</div><div>It was Dalton Miller's class. He taught geography, but he lectures never had anything to do with geography, but they were interesting, none the less. After every class he'd always ask the football players to stop for a few seconds and shoot the breeze about football.</div><div>
