According to my LT guys you (MC) will be losing a Soph QB after Christmas. Turns out he's already told them he's coming back. I'm sure this will be denied but if you've been following this board this year you already knew this was coming. Just FYI.

Who knows, never seems to be much of an issue for most.TPF,
With IHSA's current eligibility rules does this player expect to be eligibile and if so how? I'm all for an open transfer rule for kids but in today's landscape I can't see a favorable ruling if this is true.
He probably will not get many snaps with LT having a B10 QBTPF,

Like the rest of his posts, pass. I didn't like how he criticized MC coaches on here. When people were getting info that contradicted what he was stating on this board he talked about how great the MC coaches were. He gave himself an out though! I guess the transportation finally got to be too much.If only there were a poster on this board who could give us the inside scoop.

You got around the public to private transfer rule correct? It's not that hard. Just have to show on paper changes in residence.
Correct, going public to private in 2011 change in job, change in address, and change of custody. But going public to private in January 2016 and returning to the same district in January 2017 is just hard to justify per the IHSA transfer rules.
If they claim that, the dad may want to delete all of his posts. Is it really that hard? I thought the IHSA pretty much let anyone go private to public. Cant they just claim that they did not realize the financial burden of attending a private school?

I just thought the IHSA rule was cut and dry, transfer private to public and you don't have to sit out. I didn't think you had to prove anything other than the fact you lived in the district of the high school you were attending.USD,
Sure you can claim it, just be prepared to prove it too. A single transfer I feel anyone should be able to do regardless of reason, the second always becomes a more difficult task in anyone's mind.
Well he won't play barring an injury to Ben Bryant anyways. Then again he wouldn't play at MC barring an Alek Thomas injury so...The family may want to move to Cicero this time on paper if they want to ensure the kid plays as a Junior.

I am sure he will be fine going back to his original district. Not sure why this would be an issue for anyone.
You didn't list the conditions in which he may grant eligibility.LHST,
Here is the Bylaw on eligibility that I believe will present an issue because is specifically states "for the first time". He was already a student in the district. Not saying he won't be eligible, just saying if it were my kid I'd be concerned although as many pointed out he's not starting in front of Bryant.
- 3.043.3 In the event the student transfers attendance from any high school to any other high school, and the transfer is not in conjunction with a change in residence by both the student and his or her parents, custodial parent, surviving parent, or guardian to a residence outside the boundaries of the public school district attendance area the family originally resided in, the Executive Director may grant eligibility based on documentation that the transfer met one of the following conditions:
• The student is enrolling for the first time in the student’s home public member high school with boundaries
• Change in family’s financial position
• Extenuating circumstances documented by the sending school’s principal or official representative
You didn't list the conditions in which he may grant eligibility.
LHST,
I posted the IHSA Bylaw the conditions for approval are the three listed. I suppose he could claim financial change but unless someone changed jobs and can document a loss of financial wellbeing it will be tough. Remember the young man had to move and have a change in custody to be considered eligible at MC the way the IHSA bylaw for transfer is written. The second transfer complicates things and can easily be viewed as "for sports purposes"
