Will he be eligible or does he have to sit out a year?
I didn't think you sat out a year if you transfer Public to Private or Private to Public. Thought it was only when you go Public to Public or Private to Private. They are under the impression he will be eligible.

Sophomore, very talented, thinks he's gonna be starter at MC next 3. Not saying he was told that, I didn't ask but that's what he believes at this moment. I do know he was told he would be running an offense that suits his strengths, I was surprised to say the least but I am in no place to interject my opinion.Coach Frank jumping into the transfer game?
If he's a senior, I see it as Montini's influence on the CCL.![]()
For what it is worth, "now" is averaging 13.25 games per season for the last 12 years. You can literally look at MC games from the mid 80s and other than the uniforms it would look the same as it does now.
Holy can of wormsHe'll have a change in address or maybe a change in custody, it will be taken care of though. Public to private rules are stringent, well anything to private actually, but dozens upon dozens of kids do it yearly.
Kids like Nagal and Kelly-Marrin have gone Private to Public without any questions and have been eligible right away, I don't see why it wouldn't be the same for kids going Public to Private. I may be wrong but I thought the IHSA was mainly concerns with kids going Public to Public and Private to Private.Holy can of worms

Haha. Got ya, I haven't had much interaction with him but I have read some threads that he's on and it goes awry pretty quickly. No issues in anyway with the transfer here. More a comment on the potential for this thread to go haywire. Changing address? Check. Custody change? Check. Public to private move? Check. Major Catholic power involved? Check. Just need a certain tiger fan and a bowl of popcorn.

Just wondering, why would someone need to change address when going Public to Private if they are in the 30 mile radius? I'm not really that familiar with the transfer rules and we haven't really had too many transfers at MC that I was aware of.Complete opposite of this sentence. Only the ones dumb enough not to change their address have to sit out public to private.
Typically MC loses a ton of kids from frosh to senior year for a variety of reasons ie tuition, kid is not on V as a soph, playing time etc. Only kids I can think of in 25 years who transferred in where Medlock in '02 and Duerig '14.
Conor Lucas from LA in '05 just thought of as wellAaron Marshall.
Octavius Bond Transferred in as a Frosh from Delasalle.
Though they have had relatively few transfer that made a difference in last 20 years.
Perhaps you (or the friend) is misconstruing the statement a bit. "Running an offense that suits his strengths" could mean changing an offense, yes, but it could also mean that the Caramel offense suits his game too. I only say that because this kid is a very good runner in addition to being a terrific passer, he's a true dual threat QB.

He's got good feet. You need good feet to run the veer.
FYI that Soph QB from last year at LT that you are referring to just got offered by Wisconsin. He's got two more years; so yeah, you are right. Super talented QB but not going to sniff much varsity until he's a senior when Bryant is gone
I think they are putting a junior-Wilkins- at TE. Will be absolutely loaded in '17 with somewhere 12-14 starters back and major impact ones to like Thomas, Verdis Brown, Griffith, the QB, Taylor, Davis will get a lot of yards as soph. This year I have to see the B/W to get a feel where they are at.MC will throw the ball, especially if they have a QB and WR that can work into the veer. McNabb, The Welsh Brothers, O'Brien, Lynch, Butkus to name a few were all were all very good duel threat QB's. I thought Thompson was going to have a huge year last season, but the line not holding up and numerous turnovers last season didn't do him many favors. MC has a 6'5 Soph WR coming up to varsity that could be a starter as a Soph. With Kennedy, Thomas and another Soph Davis in the backfield, they will be good on offense...Defense though is the big concern, especially the front 7, secondary is solid.
Imagine Usain Bolt running the veerelvis had good feet.
i bet he could run the veer.
Pfft... Imagine Dergo running the veer.Imagine Usain Bolt running the veer
Not when you got to witness that '09 JCA attack. Best. Backfield. Ever?dont have to
