Another bad scheduling job...Wow
Agree. Not sure why we keep scheduling dangerous mid majors. Schedule weaklings. We get plenty of competition during league play.

Why don't you apply for the scheduling job? I'm sure you would be an improvement.Another bad scheduling job...Wow
This is 1 school of thought. But a lot of our fans complain about having to watch bad games in CWS. At the end of the day, strength of schedule helps with bowl invitations, but you must be able to win your nonconference games. Some people always pick the worst case example and try to pin it on the program forever. They will draw comparisons to Southern Miss. Stoops has put together very strong 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes. Especially on the lines, which is where games are won. Southern Miss beat us in the trenches. MTSU won't.Agree. Per Sagrin, our SOS in '16 is #58. And that's with AL, so it won't even be that tough in '17 or '18. Net, scheduling such a "dangerous" MM doesn't seem like the end of the world from here. Actually, the concern seems pretty funny.Agree. Not sure why we keep scheduling dangerous mid majors. Schedule weaklings. We get plenty of competition during league play.
Watched a few minutes of their bowl vs Hawaii, lost 52-35 BTW. With Franklin as their OC they looked like a typical Mumme-ball team. Threw it around a lot, the QB is the HC's son, and played zero D. QB's a lefty with a funky throwing motion, is a soph so he'll be a sr when they play in '18. That game's a long way off.
A way better team.In 2016, Kentucky went 7-5 with almost no pass rush, a mediocre run defense, and a developing offensive line that peaked at the right time. Stoops' 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes have been very strong, especially on the lines. In skill and depth, our 2018 lines will be way ahead of where our lines are now. Westry, Baity, Edwards, Ware, Allen will be seniors. If guys like Danny Clark, Asim Rose, Bryant Koback, Javonte Richardson, Tavin Richardson, Jabari Greenwood are as good as I think they are, we will have a better team in 2018 than we have now.

You might consider the fact these future OOC teams are located in fertile recruiting areas. That and exposure to UK football is not a bad thing. Finally, those UK 2018-19 teams aren't Joker caliber, but will be deep, experienced and highly competitive. It's isn't the end of the world by any means. We should handle them. That's not the point.
The point is the scheduling should be focusing on cakewalk teams to pad our wins. We'll get plenty of tests throughout the season.
I loved that Hawaii stopped them on that last drive as Stockstill kept calling timeouts trying to get a window dressing TD in the last seconds.
Really? Playing the weakest schedule in the SEC & 58/65 P5 schools isn't weak enough for you that adding the 118th rated team is too much? Really? LOL.The point is the scheduling should be focusing on cakewalk teams to pad our wins. We'll get plenty of tests throughout the season.
Well its nice to know you're not scared.Considering it's MTSU and Richie James won't be there in 18. Definitely not scared considering how good UK will be in 18, if this thing continues to go the way it's going our whole defense will be seniors in 18 with a lot of quality DL. We could be favorites to win the East that year.

I can't think of a reason in the world you wouldn't do anything you could to try to score in that situation, end the season on a high note. It would make the whole team feel better, and especially the players responsible.
Not quite the same as the PSU coach calling timeouts and using trickery to score a meaningless score against UK when he was at Vandy, but then he was a carpetbagger to start with.
I watched some of their game last night and they hit late several times and are a mouthy bunch. If I'm coaching in that situation in a bowl game in Hawaii and the game is out of reach, I'm using my timeouts to get in as many of my senior subs as possible. Stockstill comes across as a prick and his team played like a reflection of that.
