I don't blame him for leaving, in fact, if he was offered (which according to a couple guys I know that are "in" on the sitch--he will be) and didn't go I would be mad because our coach is a moron. Gotta take that job if offered. But then comes a question as old as time: "Who will be the new head coach?"<div>
</div><div>I spoke with my buddy that works for MSU Athletics and he has some pretty good info for me. ApparentlyStricklandsaw this coming and already has the wheels in motions for another hire. It's not Hud, that would be a terrible hire, makes no sense. 2 main guys:</div><div>
</div><div>I am hearing Rhett Lashlee, has made a big impression on Stickland and he is a Gus M. prodigy. He has done fantastic with Samford this year and OM is targeting him, it would be nice to swoop him up before they can take him.</div><div>
</div><div>Second, this is a long shot. I have never liked this guy or wanted this guy, but Petersen is still high on our list. He has an 'ok' resume, nothing too special. I think he would be better at OM, it would be such a sucker, trap hire. If we could somehow get them to take him and we get Lashlee or even Malzahn, I think we would be set for years to come.</div><div>
