We have now lost 10 straight games against ranked teams.
Mullen is now 2-19 against top-25 teams and hasn’t beaten one since UF in 2010.

LSU has beaten Mississippi State in 21 of the last 22 games.
LSU vs BAMA will most likely be for the BCS....

Get beyond it man. Any losses that have occurred can't be changed. But have a terrible attitude going forward doesn't help anything.

There's nothing left of the Stansbury horse so he's beating what's left of Mullen's

I would love to see a stat of those same 17 teams versus the rest of the teams in the NCAA in the year we lost to them. I would venture a guess that those 17 teams probably won 80-90% of the time.

Not defending Dan but that stat is just stupid as are any of you that truly expected us to beat LSU. There is a major difference in a top 10 team and a 20th ranked team.

That stat had been done before. Those 17 teams won well over 90% (I think 95%-96%) of their games when you took out games between themselves, where by definition they would be .500.

I'm not sure which 17 teams he's talking about.

I'll assume the following:
2009 - LSU, Florida, Alabama
2010 - Auburn*, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas
2011 - LSU, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas
2012 - Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Northwestern
2013 - Oklahoma St., LSU

*- Auburn was #21 in one poll and #20 in the other. But we need 17 teams, so I assume he's using this one.

Those teams were a combined 181-30 with 4 national championships.

Removing games between themselves, that leaves 164-13.

Wasn't aware he was so bad against top 20 teams. Why hasn't this been posted before? *

Not to put down Jackie, but other than beating a 9-4 Florida team in 92, who

else did he really beat until his upset against a highly ranked Bama team in 96 (his 6th year)? That big Texas team he beat in 91 ended up 5-6 and the 92 Texas team went 6-5. The big Auburn win in 91 was against a team that went 6-5. Mullen has done just about the exact same thing Jackie did. He is beating the big name teams during their "down" seasons (FL, GA, Auburn, TN). Jackie had five big wins against great teams, Florida in 92 and 2000, Auburn in 1997 and 2000 (who also went 9-4), and Alabama in 1996. I guess you can throw in TN in 1994, but we caught that team when Peyton was just starting. They improved immensely through the season.

State very rarely beats highly ranked teams, so for all of you thinking we did it with regularity when Jackie was coach, check the stats. Also, most of those big wins came during or after Jackie's sixth season. Plus, we're not losing to Northeast Louisiana, tying Arkansas State, or losing to Louisiana Tech. Finally, the SEC West has been ridiculously loaded during Mullen's tenure.

Guess who else went 9-4 and got beat by State in 2009? Ole Miss. That was Mullen's first big win.

Summation: No one is beating the teams beating us. Except for the teams that are beating us.
