Took the job because he believes in G. Byrne & recruiting base (MS, AL). Called Starkville a great college town and MSU a great university. Still talking about how to handle BCS Championship. No decision yet...sounds like he wants to coach the game. Tim Tebow is a demi-god. Doesn't need a lot of sleep these days...he's very excited. Ended segment with a small pitch to recruits. *** I don't think we've seen a coach who understands the importance of recruiting as much as he does. I don't remember Croom talking about recruiting this much.
I agree, I think he made a great sales pitch. They were throwing some negative type questions at him and to me he turned them to positives.
These talk shows are pissing me off. They absolutely can't stand the notion of a MSU, Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss, etc. not accepting their "door mat" status. (Disclaimer to OM fans: I know you had a good year - take a look a the several leading up to it - still considered a door mat). Whenever we make a move that appears that it could better our situation, we get railed on. All I hear is "Why is Mullen taking the job?" "Why did they get rid of Croom, he was a good coach for them?"
#%$! that - if he was such a damn good coach, then why weren't people beating down the door to hire him? Answer that media. It's like its out plot in life to suck and to hire a coach that nobody else wants only to have everyone call him a good man and coach after whipping our asses year in and year out.
I'm not suggesting we are going to rule the SEC anytime soon. But, I've had enough with the know your role attitude the media spouts every day. Newsflash media: MSU fans do give a damn.
