Minnesota? My question would be why? They are as much of a have-not in their conference as we are if not more. They definitely don't have a strong recruiting base to draw from. From what little I know about them, I would think fan support would be a fraction of what it is here.

Just curious if you have any links you can provide to give this rumor any kind of validation.

out of every job opening that comes up, "that Mullen is a candidate for whatever far flung reason". This is gonna get old, fast.

I don't think he would go, he might and if he does, more power to him. On the other hand, it's hard to think that's any better an opportunity than here where he seems very popular among the fanbase. Add that he's playing in the best conference and that other big name schools could potentially come calling, I just don't think he'd go to Minnesota

I feel certain Dan will wait until well past 5-2 andthe half-way point in the season to be requesting a huge raise. And Minnesota is the last school to worry about. If you're gonna make **** up, do better. And if you didn't make that up, I would never go back to the place you "saw" this rumor.

Was posted on rivals.com. That's why I asked if it was BS. I suspect it is, but as it;s a topic near & dear to my heart, I just wanted to see if any true Bulldog fans had any info. <div>
</div><div>Go to rivals.com, then the college football message board. Search: Mullen. Topic is "Dan Mullen to Minnesota heating up". I suspect it's an Ole miss fan, maybe UF. Dude doesn't list his affiliation & has few posts.</div>

of his departure. It might be 3-5 years, but its gotta be a place a great conference w/more upside the UMINN. Not knocking the GG's, but its not the SEC

Only way to get this over with is to announce a contract extensionafter the egg bowl. At some point it will start to hurt recruiting. No amount of him saying I am not interested will make me feel any better. I can see him leveraging a particular opening into a pay raise. I think we just need to fork over the $3 millionper year and call it a day. Whatever happens it doesn't need to be a contract extension just for the sake of it. It needs to cut out all the schools that want to steal him for $2.5. I mean if he is leaving lets make somebody really pay for him.

he is making a name for himself in the coaching community ... I don't think he HAS made a name yet ( as a head coach)... his tenure here isn't finished ... can't call him a bonafide winner until he proves it for more than a year or two ... he would be an idiot to leave before that has been established ... he is still a work in progress .... not everyone around the country is as wooly about him yet as we are

but that doesn't mean he doesn't have one now. Byrne was big on not negotiating with an agent.

Dan Mullen is going to leave his ranked SEC team to go to a bottom dwelling big 10 team that has won a total of what, 3, 4 games in the past two years... Dan would have a better chance of going to the National Championship with MSU than Minnesota, thats for damn sure..
