is if a team primarily made up of Mississippi HS talent, hopefully properly coached, can compete at a high level within the SEC. Repeatedly hearing Coach Mullen speak, he makes no bones about the fact that he wants the bulk of his recruiting needs to be met within the state. In his presser yesterday he made a big deal about 19 of the 27 signees being from within the state and stated that he wants to keep similar percentages going forward. Apparently, there seems to be a different mindset in Oxford, so I guess we will see which approach is successful. Who knows, maybe they both will be. Personally, I don't believe any of MSU's better teams have relied heavily on out of staters because in our past, we've never been able to attract upper out of state talent in bulk. Usually even the out of state talent we've gotten that has done well, like a Titus Brown, have been guys that didn't have an offer to their in state schools. I would still like to see Mullen though utilize his connections in Florida to continue to work that state for talent as well. Given the transition he may have backed off there somewhat this year as a courtesy to Meyer, but I would hope he would get back in there for talent from here on out.
