Sherrill and Brewer were both old-school, hardnosed coaches who had a nasty dislike for each other. Brewer pretty much ruled Mississippi while Emory the Memory and Clueless Rockey were coaching. However, when Sherrill came in you could see there was a new gunfighter in town.

With Mullen vs. Nutt, it's more of an old seasoned coach versus a cocky young gun. I think Nutt might do well next season only because he always does better when he has little talent coming back and they're not highly regarded. Mullen doesn't give a **** about the old traditions or the "We's Jes' Po Mississippi State" mentality, and he's probably going bowling next season with the personnel upgrades he makes in the offseason.

Where does this come from? Nutt always does better when he has players like McFadden, McCluster, Jones (both Felix and Matt), etc., not when he doesn't have much talent. He can pull off a surprise or two, but in the middle of his tenure at Arkansas before he had a couple of really good recruiting classes he did have back to back losing seasons.

1) There are times where someone comes out of nowhere (Matt Jones, Felix Jones, etc.) who become big playmakers.

2) Saying things like this keep Rebel sheeps' hopes up, and I've found there's nothing more fun than watching them get their hopes up and then just destroying them.
