If Bowling Green hangs on, they'll be ranked like 22nd this next week. They'll pound some lame Sun Belt team in their bowl game, and move to 19th or 20th in the final AP Poll.

That will be Mullen's 2nd top 20 win, the first being Ole Miss, who were 20th in the 2009 final AP bowl.

What BG did to NIU was no joke. BG dominated NIU and their hesiman contender QB. As crazy as it sounds, that really was a quality win.

I have to admit, BGSU is a solid team.
If they were in the SEC this year they could beat UK, VAndy, UPIGG, Mississippi, UF, and UT. They would give UGA, USC, and perhaps Missour-uh a good game. So I'm impressed w/their corch and offense

NIU's defense was horrible. Guys WIDE open. Oak groves offense and coach would look good against that D.

You watched one Bowling Green game and decided they could beat almost half the teams in the SEC and give the team that might play for the national championship a good game? Give me a break. I love all the revisionist history for Mullen now that we beat Ole Miss. Now all of a sudden the BG one-point squeaker is a great win that legitimizes Mullen as a coach. BG lost to Indiana by 30 points and lost to Toledo. The win over BG looks much better than it did at the time, but let's not go overboard and declare them a great team just to prop up our nailbiting win against them. We still should've beaten them by at least 2 touchdowns.

I'm saying I wouldn't crown BG as a middle of pack SEC team based off that game.

Funny how 12 other college football teams didn't fare so hot against NIU, yet you have the thought that a high school team could. I realize the hyperbole but that really renders your argument obsolete. BG played well and won their conference, they're a decent football team.

And while you aren't ready to rank them middle-SEC tier, I feel strongly they could beat Kentucky, Arkansas, possibly Tennessee, Florida. That would put them........middle-tier SEC this year.

No one in this thread said it "legitimizes" Mullen or that BG is a "great" team but they are a hell of a lot better than some of the ones that have ripped Mullen all year care to admit.

If you want to be upset about barely beating a crappy team then talk about the Kentucky game but Bowling Green is a legit decent team that would probably beat most of the bottom third of the SEC.
