Will it get in the way Saturday night? I would hope not, but you never know. If we were to beat Florida it would really hurt their chance at a national title and Tebow's chance at the Heisman. If we have them on the ropes late in the game, will Mullen's emotions towards Tebow get the best of him? Will he let up?

No

No, and no.
If Mullen has proven anything in his short tenure at State, it's that the guy wants to win. Winning is clearly the thing that matters the most, which is the biggest breathe of fresh air for this program.

That's not the way sports works. For 4 hours on Saturday, there won't be any love or friendship between Mullen and any of the Florida players. They'll be trying as hard as they can to win the damn game. Aaron Hernandez probably says it best
``I was real close with Hevesy,'' Hernandez said. ``We considered each other as family. But he had to go make more money or whatever he was doing over there, and it was the best decision for him.''</p>

He added: ``[Playing against Hevesy and Mullen] won't be weird because they're an opponent and they're in our way.' </p>

that someone like you would post this. And whoever yesterday posted the same thing is an idiot too.

If Mullen's love for Tebow was that strong, he would be at Florida right now. If you honestly think he is more concerned about Tebow's feelings than winning, then you have no clue about coaching sports. Mullen no doubt has a fire to win this game. He would love to see us make a statement and somehow pull off an upset. You think McDaniels was emotional a week ago playing the Patriots and worried about beating his mentor? No. Did you see his reaction after the Broncos beat the Pats? He was freaking out on the sidelines in excitement and emotion.

Mullen would love nothing more than to shake hands and embrace Tebow after being on the winning end. This is sad that anyone would think up something so absurd.

I agree that Mullen loves winning. However this is Tebows last year. Mullen will never have to coach against Tebow for as long as he is a college coach. I guess my point is, if there is one game Mullen wouldn't mind losing, It's this one. For alot of reasons. It's very obvious how special Tebow is to Mullen. I read somewhere that Tebow was like a son to Dan and Megan. Sometimes you let your son win on purpose.

If by some stroke of luck we actually keep this game close for 4 quarters, any questionable play call that appears to cost us the game will bring the Black Helicopter out in everyone. Imagine a scenario identical to the LSU fiasco. "Dixon should have gotten the ball....Mullen wanted Florida to win....blah blah blah.."

Do you think that Bobby Bowden thought I love my son Tommy so much that I will let him win. Hell no it motivated him to beat him even more. If a coach does not look out for himself first he needs to be gone. Mullen knows how far a win like this would take him. It would be huge for recruiting and put us on the national map for a week.

Mullen will want our defense to put Tebow on his *** EVERY time he snaps the ball. Sure, he will hug him after the game but during the game, all that is thrown out the window. He doesn't give a **** about Florida's national title hopes, well at least, he better not Saturday.

The Mcdaniels comparision is not the same. I think if it were Mullen vs Meyer( the mentor) I would not have even brought it up. Of course Mullen wants to beat the hell out of Meyer, but Tebow changes everything. He has a strange effect on people. People pull for him like I have never seen before and Mullen and Meyer lead the pack in his praise. So this is a special situation.

On one hand. 1) Mullen's dogs could play a hell of a game and beat the 06/08 national champions. 2) Mullen would have a spike in recruiting and probably land some big names that are on the fence 3) He would have a great bargaining tool for a pay raise and maybe other offers 4) He would be able to show how much Florida may miss him as the play caller 5) National audience would see it live and replays for the rest of the year (recall ole miss' win last year)

Or 1) We could keep the game respectable and lose by 1 or 2 touchdowns and wonder what could have been 2) Recruits may say it was a good game and then move on 3) Mullen could say well at least the game was a sellout 4) Show that Florida is still undefeated without him calling the plays 5) Gators would still have to win out and win the SECCG not to mention that Tebow would still have to compete for a 2nd Heisman trophy.

I promise you he is not thinking about the latter option

No diferent that us beating Alabama with Croom, Croom was big Alabama and he loved every minute of beating Alabama, and so did every other State Fan. We all knew that Croom sought to beat Alabama just like Mullen wants more than anything to beat FLORIDA. To hell with Tebow and the damn gators. When he put that Maroon Jacket on and Rang that First Cowbell he knew then and there that he wanted to Whoop some GATOR ***!!!!

when asked about winning. He said that if his mother was on the other team and tried to tackle him he would run over her...and her loved her.

If Mullen won't let Tebow win a board game at his house he sure as hell isn't going to let him win a national televised football game.

There is no game that Mullen wouldn't mind losing. There are very rarely, if any, games that any coach wouldn't mind losing. There might be a certain amount of man love going on between Mullen and Tebow, but, come on. He's not going to intentionally lose a game. He would have everything to lose and nothing to gain by doing that.

I can't believe this is actually a topic on this board.

Man you got it all wrong.. Tebow is going to throw the game on purpose because he wants his father figure Dan to succeed in the SEC and have a shot at a bowl game and give him a huge win. Tebow will guarantee another win after the loss to cement his legacy. It's a win win for both Dan and Tim. This is the only probable scenario. All that was sarcasm in case you haven't notice. But really please don't ever post again.

And I'm not just talking about Mullen, if ANY coach across America is more worried about another team's national title hopes and intentionally losing to them rather than setting a game plan to kick their ***, they need to be fired. Bob Stoops, Pete Carroll, any coach, I don't care. That's not Mullen's job to win a national title for another school. Sure, if Florida makes the national title game, I'm 100% sure Mullen will cheer for them, but if you think he's going to intentionally lose to them b/c of 1 player, you've gotta be out of your damn mind. You've gotta be one of the worst posters in recent history.</p>

I wish I had time to keep this going. It's so much fun being the puppet master, you people are so easy. If it's still close late in the fourth quarter I'll be happy no matter if Mullen throws the game or not.

I think OOB- from the Orlando Sentinel on the article on tebow and mullen. Mullen gave a plug to Cappe's Steakhouse in the article. I think cappe's has stepped it up and is now catering pretty much all of football and baseball's needs. Thought yall would find that interesting since cappes doesn't get much pub.</p>
