Nope. USCw is not what we all think. Similar revenue to Mississippi State and 2019 attendance was under 60k. No coach should leave the new SEC for any school outside of Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan, or maybe Notre Dame.

The SEC could just completely break off and form NFL 2. You don't want to jump off that boat.

Much lower buyout this year. Couldn't afford to lose. Could see Petterson. USC hasn't fired him previously due to his buyout and all the scandals on campus. He was a safe coach that wasn't much trouble, I think they will still look safe. Maybe the AD has convinced Fickle to leave the state of Ohio.

The difference is, Southern Cal is one of those sleeping giants that could easily be the next Ohio St. or Clemson with the right hire. Alabama is the only SEC program that's definitely a better job, and Georgia, Florida and maybe A&M and LSU are probably comparable jobs. You can add Texas and Oklahoma to that list in a couple of years.

He's the absolute perfect fit. But they are going to be stupid and hire Fickell, who doesn't fit at all.

USC is the breedingland for perception, and caring about what people think. Texas isn't far behind, and of course Ole Miss is Texas-lite. This is Lane Train territory. I thought ole Joey was a much better fit than Sark at Texas, who I do not think will be uber-successful. He'll be ok.

I’d actually be much more concerned about Mullen going to USC. I don’t think Kiffin is going back to USC. I don’t think he’s going to LSU with that Title IX and NCAA cloud after what he went through at USC.

But I’d 100% be nervous about his name in the Florida coaching search. Hell Freeze more or less accepted the job there before he let his heart take over, and backed out. And he had major ties to Ole Miss. I guess I’m now pulling for Mullen to win 10+ games.
