Mullens to UCONN? Maybe already posted somewhere? Interesting scenario

It was just discussed on Bill King and that is the first I've heard of it. One comment was that it would be an "amicable divorce".

I heard this yesterday, second hand from a "good source". Maybe the source reads footballrumormill.com, or maybe there is something to this rumor.

Also, the cigar boy I know is DONE with Mullen after the last month or so. The heat is rising, and it's not just coming from message board heroes.

That could be a win-win. Dan gets to move on and save face and we get to move on before the wheels fall completely off. Kind of like Tubberville leaving Texas Tech for Cincinnati.

This possible pipe dream does make the timing of last week's alleged contract negotiations involving mullen's contract a little more curious to me now.

I started to zone out....

after the first sentence. Kicking things off with claims that have zero basis in fact doesn't lend much credence to the rest of the article.
Every Bulldog with half a brain knew this would be a tough year.

After the next 2 butt whippings, I doubt the team will have enough in them to win the final 2 games. A sub 500 season, UCONN won't offer. Would be nice if it happened though.

The chance to get a "successful" SEC coach that had one down year? The biggest other interest in the job is Houston Nutt. Who would you take of the two?

My dad went to UConn so this would make him happy. However there's no way they'd ever pony up enough money to get Mullen. UConn is a basketball school and culturally is not a good fit for a personality like Mullen's. It'd be a huge step down for him professionally.

It would certainly be a step down. No one is denying that at all...

I would personally take time off work, wrap every thing the Mullen's have amassed in two newspaper sheets and double bubble wrap and pack them in styrofoam peanuts if this happens. I would make this the easiest move up north ever.

Heres my take: last week we hear Mullen is negotiating an extension. Those talks between Stricklin and Mullen's camp probably haven't gone as well as Mullen's camp would have liked, because after all Dan has "taken you to three straight bowl games". As such, dan's camp is floating out this 'I'll go to UCONN' BS to put pressure on SS and remind the fan base how lucky we are to have him.

We sure are fortunate: we fought off Florida, Michigan, Miami, Minnesota, Tennessee (thanks Slive), and now UCONN.

If this happens, UCONN will forever be known as The School Up North, wait, that sounds too familiar
