As most of you know I'm big on recruiting. So as I check out the rankings this morning I noticed something; KENTUCKY. So then I check the other 2 sites and see that I'm not dreaming. They currently have a consensus top 8 class with some big time players. All I hear in Bulldogland is that "you have to win first" before you can get good recruits. This is absolutely crazy. Mullen better get his head out of his *** quickly. So far our current class is shaping up to be the worst one ever. We're not only getting guys from Sunbelt teams big boards but now we're hitting up SWAC teams big boards. There is no way we should still be doing this in year 5. Hell the whole conference is laughing at us. Put down the crayons and construction paper and go recruit. Everybody is passing us. Y'all laugh and say OM has divas. So what. They're ballers. If I had my way I'd fire Mullen now and get Jim Tressel. Maybe Chip Kelly will stink it up in the NFL and will be available in 2 years. No more excuses. Get off your *** and recruit before we turn back into bottom feeder cellar dwellers. It's a shame how much we celebrate mediocrity. This is 2013. By God we are in the freaking SEC and you have guys that'll rather go to Sun Belt teams than to play for MSU. Something is clearly wrong with that picture. In conclusion just go freaking recruit man. And it's time you people stop making excuses and smell the roses. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a damn mongoose. Out!!

You're terrible

1) It's June.
2) Have we had Big Dawg Camp (you know, where we usually get most of our summer commitments?)
3) It's June.
4) We're limited on spots.
5) It's June.

Personally would not give two shakes of piss if we had he number one class right now. Repeat after me: it does not matter until signing day.

If spots are so tight why get all these 2* guys? Out of all commits we only have one baller and that's Graham. If y'all want 6-6 seasons then fine. I want BCS.

Can we interpret this as a Rule 14 situation?

Can we just get rid of people who obviously listen to Jim Rome?

If you want "BCS" top 10, you need to pull for BAMA, LSU or maybe even UF...

Miss. State will never be a consistent top tier team. We haven't been a consistent .500 team over the last 50 years....Your goal as a MSU football fan should be .500 or above and a bowl game each year. The truth hurts young man but when you accept reality, you will have a lot less stress concerning MSU football.

Question. Can we realistically keep big donors excited with such low aspirations. Do you think the guys pumping 5 figures and more into the program every year have no greater goals than what you`ve stated ?

You realize most of these guys haven't been fully evaluated yet right? It's June! This time last year the #2 player in the country had one offer - from USM. He spent most of the season a 2 and 3 star.

Forget stars. We have the #1 recruit from the Tennessee according to anyone who matters. We haven't had our big camp that produces half of our commits either.

You also realize our best players year in and year out were 2 stars with limited offers right? Trust the staff to evaluate talent and get kids on board. It's working for us.

This is why Mullen gets paid for following recruiting and you don't. Mississippi high school athletics are pathetic and get little attention from anyone, so the next Tom Brady could be playing high school ball right now and the only ones who know it are his high school coach and MAYBE a handful of JUCO coaches or an assistant coach from some college who happened to stop by.

Different sport, but a perfect example of the best athletes in Mississippi not getting exposure is Hunter Renfroe. 20 game season. 80 AB's, 60 intentional walks. Touched 98 on a gun from the mound. One offer. Ever been to Crystal Springs?

There's a reason why this is happening

Stoops (who is from Youngstown) is hitting up Ohio pretty heavily and using the whole "you can play in the SEC!" angle.
And UK is ahead of Texas and Tennessee (who haven't exactly been overachievers recently) in the 2014 (!) recruiting "rankings". So forgive me for not giving a **** about something so premature.

This (along with the fact that apparently your fan-ness is connected to the whims of some high school juniors) really speaks volumes:
If I had my way I'd fire Mullen now and get Jim Tressel

enjoy the bowl ban with Cheatypants McSweatervest at the helm. Hell, we're on probation NOW because we have some idiot fans who "know more about recruiting" than our coaching staff (nudge, nudge. wink, wink).

I want BCS

So have fun at the UK-Texas Speculative 2018 National Championship Game. I hear Imaginationland is lovely that time of year.

Actually it doesn't matter until they step on the field and actually play a game.

Rankings don't mean crap if they cant get into school.

Mullen feels like he can take a kid, give him two or three years, and then turn him into a servicable SEC football player. We'll see if it works or not over the next two years. We have done well identifying some off the radar guys: Slay, Banks, Malcolmn Johnson, McKinney (looks very promising), Preston Smith, Perkins, etc.

It won't take long to figure out where we stand in 2013. We play OSU and @ Auburn early. Those will be good measuring sticks, IMO.

I think Renfroe would have been a lot better off if his family had moved just a little north into the Terry district. It's pretty obvious watching and hearing Hershiser's comments about him that he almost had to start from scratch in learning the game when he got to MSU. Or if moving wasn't an option, I'm sure he could have gotten some financial help to play at Hillcrest. They're nothing like what they used to be but still a lot better than Copiah Academy.

1- How would most of us know you are big on recruiting?...you have 30 posts to your current name. I couldnt care if you have 5 or 5000, but it kinda matters when you say most of us know something about you.

2- Its June.

3- MSU baseball is still alive, focus on that rather than the 'sport' of football recruiting.

4- Signing day is over 7 months away. There is still a TON of time for all the 17year olds to change their minds 6x over and to soak up the circle jerked attention given to them by adult males.

5- Your way would be to fire Mullen in June just because the upcoming recruiting class isnt where you arbitrarily think it should be? Seriously, read that again. And again. The lack of logic is just stunning.

6- I agree that our upcoming class is not the best ever, so far. Luckily, see #2 and #4.

I'm with everyone else that this is premature and silly, but....

My opinion is that Mullen's staff is doing a fine job given the handcuffs they have to wear (cough, Bracky, cough, cough). If you get put on probation for a discount on a vehicle and a couple of hundred dollar handshakes, you have to wonder what's wrong in your athletic department.

You also have to know what the coaching staff is up against.

This. Maybe once in a Blue Moon - if the stars allign properly (like they did when Sherril went to the SECC game) - but enjoy the event and quit worrying about results you have no control over.

So, how does it work? Poster prints his post. Turns in good work to Law firm. Then the check is in the mail? Just curious.

No doubt Mullen has done great things for MSU but its time he found his "ness". You guys make it seem like you like the projects/diamonds in the rough but when we get blasted on the field the first thing you all say is "GOTTA RECRUIT BETTER". Beaver Teeth Freeze is bringing a lot of talent up north and they're going to be a force in the very near future. Vandy is trending upward. Kentucky is too. We're getting passed by. It may be premature but I see things in advance. On 24/7 last year I made posts predicting how the season would end and ole miss's momentum but of course those sunshine pumpers thought I was crazy so when that colossal 1-5 finish happened they were on suicide watch not me. We as fans have to want more. We want more. When u really like something you want more of it. Kentucky doesn't have a big football history and are going to bring in a great class. Z'Darius Smith was right down the road at EMCC and ended up at KENTUCKY. In the words of Trinidad James "don't believe me just watch".

ON SIGNING DAY..... I will not be happy until we jump from the bottom third to the middle-top third of the SEC. But we will wait until SIGNING DAY to judge that. Personally, I think we can do better than we did last year. If Mullen has a ****** class this year, I will ***** about it until my fingers hurt. Not saying we had a ****** class last year.

The only ones that get it are the all 24/7 team members. They have seen the light. All the rest over there are sunshine pumpers. Don't pee in my face and tell me it's sweet milk.

"Realistically" ....you would never make the statement I made when you are...

raising money etc...but it's the reality of our situation. You tell em' what they want to hear and move forward.

What? Nikia Cathey is no where close to being the #1 recruit in TN.

I think I perpetuated this and its a mistake. Barton Simmons said that about Donald Gray last year. I'm pretty sure I confused the 2 on 1 of the boards. I'll own that one
