What a stupid move. Someone is going to fill that void toot-sweet and make a bundle doing so.

No question about it. It is a huge cash cow. Now you see why ABC, CBS, NBC, etc. are liberal. Profits not nearly as important as ideology.

They aren't, otherwise, why is Fox so successful? Ailes realized half the country wasn't being served by the media. Shocking, I know.
Let's say that Fox is the primary conservative news show and the others are all liberal. All the conservatives eyes are on one pie while the liberal pie is many slices or fewer viewers/outlet. Fox could charge advertisers more because all of the conservative viewers watch the one channel. The almighty dollar rules above all for all of them.

No, all the other media outlets could decide to play it straight and get more viewers, more advertisers and much more money.

I trust mediaite about as much as I trust breitbart. That's some liberal blogger's wet dream, nothing more.

I have little doubt about the truth in this piece. Hannity essentially tweeted as much last evening. If much of the talent goes, someone will see a huge opportunity. And there is no doubt that the Murdoch sons are very, very liberal. Their wives even more so.

No, they would simply have to tell both sides of the story. Then conservatives would not have had to go to Fox. They would have stayed as viewers.
Apparently zero channels (according to you) have chosen to go that route so maybe it's you not them.

No, study after study has shown the media to be overwhelmingly liberal. Deny it all you want. Maybe it is not me, but you that has a distorted view of reality.

You completely misunderstood. Short version is....those that produce news seem to be good with the status quo whether you understand or approve of it and the dollar is still king unless greed has gone out of style.

No you misunderstand. The producers know they can attract a bigger audience if they played it straight. But they value their ideology over money. Why are audience levels falling for ABC, NBC and CBS? Because they don't play it straight and people are looking elsewhere for their news.

As usual, you have your theories that are based on nothing of course.

Except that Fox became enormously popular because of the bias/corruption of the main stream media. Why did Fox pass up CNN even though CNN had such a huge head start? Because the viewers could see their blatant bias.

I'll explain again. Fox is popular because they've got all the conservative viewers which is a greater number than a fraction of the liberal viewers that CNN has, it's simple math. If there were 4 or 5 other conservative channels, Fox's viewership would go down....that's what CNN is dealing with but on the other side.

With respect to cable news, Fox has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined. If CNN played it straight, they would get more viewers (from Fox). But they are hard left and competing against MSNBC for that position. They are sacrificing money for ideology.

You got that right. I would go after the biggest audience possible regardless of ideology. The stockholders deserve no less.
Ever consider that the ideal channel that you dream about might not do so well as many people may prefer news that has their preferred lean?

I think that is true of the hard core right or left guys, but Fox is getting plenty of independents. CNN should try and compete for those viewers rather than fighting it out with MSNBC for the far left. CNN is leaving a lot of viewers in Fox's hen house.

I'm sure that CNN gets plenty of independents. I realize that this topic is endlessly fascinating to you due to the mind numbing number of threads that you've started on it. goodbye
