Pitre didn't bunt and delivers a HR to right center on a fastball up.

Murrays pitcher leaving alot up in the zone.

Looks like Murray State's pitchers got the message. They are down in the zone and we are striking out.

I think this is a better team than last year especially on the mound and defensively. I’m just not sure they are going to be able to score enough runs to win 14 or 15 SEC games.
I agree with your assessment 100%. I guess we’ll both know more once SEC play starts.

Agreed. The lack of offensive power hitting bothers me with this team.

For now, though, we just need to keep winning all these winnable games/series before SEC play starts (and then win the mid-week games that come along).

Looking at the offensive stats is a little perplexing.

~UK is 7th in the conference in average at a very respectable .316.

~But last in runs scored, home runs and 12th in hits.

~3rd in the league in total strikeouts but last in walks. Can someone explain to me why this trend seems to happen every year with UK? They strike out a ton but rarely get walked? Now, granted, they do get hit by a pitch a lot so it does even out just a little bit.

With the new found bunt approach with runners in scoring position has to be part of why we aren't scoring runs in bunches.

Along with our power numbers stink against bad pitching as well so far.

I'd be interested in the LOB numbers as well as hitting with runners in scoring position.

Once we get into SEC play hopefully our transfers have built confidence to face SEC pitching.

Just went and looked at LOB. Through 12 games UK sets at 109.
