I agree with your assessment 100%. I guess we’ll both know more once SEC play starts.I think this is a better team than last year especially on the mound and defensively. I’m just not sure they are going to be able to score enough runs to win 14 or 15 SEC games.
Agreed. The lack of offensive power hitting bothers me with this team.I think this is a better team than last year especially on the mound and defensively. I’m just not sure they are going to be able to score enough runs to win 14 or 15 SEC games.
With the new found bunt approach with runners in scoring position has to be part of why we aren't scoring runs in bunches.Looking at the offensive stats is a little perplexing.
~UK is 7th in the conference in average at a very respectable .316.
~But last in runs scored, home runs and 12th in hits.
~3rd in the league in total strikeouts but last in walks. Can someone explain to me why this trend seems to happen every year with UK? They strike out a ton but rarely get walked? Now, granted, they do get hit by a pitch a lot so it does even out just a little bit.

Along with our power numbers stink against bad pitching as well so far.
I'd be interested in the LOB numbers as well as hitting with runners in scoring position.
Once we get into SEC play hopefully our transfers have built confidence to face SEC pitching.
