Man some of you are rough on guys, lol. I get if Murray was a seasoned pro, but his first playoff experience, got in two Game 7's and will learn a ton from it. If not for his play in this Series--Blazers win in 6--possibly less. Denver needs to hope Michael Porter Jr can be the healthy HS version of himself and need to make smart upgrades. Paul Milsap did what Paul Milsap does--and that is not factor into a big game but be a solid pro games 1-82 into the 1st Round. If he's ever going to be part of a contender--needs to head up a 2nd Unit.
Jokic is a talented guy, but how large is window with him as a primary player? Struggles to score against athleticism and length and he's skilled but athleticism matters in NBA...so need to show progress soon or I'd package him to get better players before he declines.
As for the Playoffs, all I can say is you see why it's hard to win a NCAA Title watching the NBA. See how loose everyone plays until it's a 1 game deciding game to keep moving on? Then players get tight, pass up shots (Raptors were playing Hot Potato against Sixers, and Philly was having many guys shrink up too). Pressure reveals what you are. How anyone can be making $$$ playing a game and be so nervous to compete is always shocking to me, but it's something most players go through. If they are this nervous at NBA level in Game 7--and they are--then look how hard the NCAA's can be when you are competing over 3 weeks against a different opponent that you most of the time haven't played in regular season. So when all these negative people get angry at loaded teams for not winning--look at NBA-if the Warriors were in an NCAA Format--they'd have come up short seeing Clippers took them 6 games. It's hard.....as it should be to win a championship. The measure of greatness is if you are in the mix to contend consistently.
I appreciate Murray's competitive side as he didn't play scared--he didn't play well or shoot well but he didn't shy away and shrivel up. You learn from that....you fade if you are afraid. He's too confident and works too hard to go away after this, but it also shows who really is the key to that team's success. If he doesn't hit shots efficiently they can't win against better teams.
For sake of this postseason, glad Blazers won as they've at least played Golden State well during regular season--we know Playoffs are different animal but think they can get some games and make it interesting--Denver would've been crushed this year. Also Paul Allen put a lot into the Blazers and in year he's passed, happy for the organization and fans that they are succeeding. 2 seed who was swept last year in 1st Rd by AD and Crew in WCF a year later.
