Sports broadcasting legend Brent Musburger will be joined by college football analyst Jesse Palmer in the booth every Saturday on the SEC Network when it launches next fall. The Hall of Fame sportscaster and the former Florida quarterback have each reached an agreement with ESPN to be the lead college football game commentators on the new network. The pair will kick off the season with Texas A&M at South Carolina on the SEC Network Thursday, Aug. 28.

I like Pollack and Palmer on the Thursday night games. The young guys make it a very 'college' feel to me. Not sure how Palmer will be paired up with the older guy.

He'll be playing with a 5-star commentator and not a 3-star, not to mention not having Pollack to slow him down. Palmer should thrive since he has more charisma than what Blackledge had with Vern.

I really like Palmer, think he did a good job on Thursday nights

Couldn't stand Pollock with his bro mannerisms and speech. Got on my nerves quick. Not a big Musburger fan, but he's tolerable. I do think it's cool that the SEC has two of the most legendary announcers, Vern and Brent, calling SEC games exclusively.

At least it's not Brando. However I do think he will show up at the SEC Network. 3 football games on Sat. and basketball season so he can do double duty.

He put Finbaum down as a reference on his job application**

So I'm guessing this means Nessler and Herbstreit are now the ESPN/ABC primetime duo?

Maybe we will see the return of Ron "Sweet Cakes" Franklin to SEC games.***

Katherine Webb as the side line talent is a done deal**

You're hiring the SEC Network side line talent who are you offering the job first?

Looks like Fowler is going to team up again with Herbstreit to call the main Saturday night game. Does Nessler stay with ESPN?

I think Nessler is better than Fowler. But maybe Herbstreit has chemistry with Fowler - or needs a travel buddy.
