Hello,

Just to give you a little background, my name is Jay and I play the music for Football and Basketball. I started last season with FB and this season with BB. I own a bar/eatery here in Starkville called Cowbells Sports Grill. I have been in Starkville for 11 years.

I just wanted to know what everyone thought about the music this year at FB and take any suggestions for BB.

much better than the previous years. It also probably has something to do with the new sound system.

Music at the football games has definitely been better this year.

One question for you, what song was played when the team came out for the second half at the Alabama game?

AC/DC's For Those About to Rock. I heard it at the NE/Carolina Superbowl and thought that it was one of the greatest sports songs ever.

My only critique is I thought that rap song that goes, "neva eva eva neva eva eva eva neva eva..." made it sound too much like, "we will neva eva eva eva eva eva neva eva win at home!!!!" Know what I mean? It seemed like it was always played at the end of the game when we were for sure going to lose.

I have enjoyed it a lot.

One I'd like to add to the rotation with zombie nation is Song 2 (aka: the woo hoo) song by Blur. It is an easy one for the crowd to sing along with.

Five Stone's "Get Up" and "Make Some Noise" will be great for basketball. Heard the Lakers using it last year and then used it on my basketball highlight video. Might just play part of it. I use SportSoundsPro for our FB games. Great program. Use Audacity to clip songs to use the portions that I want.

You can search YouTube and find a guy who has the beats with just the hooks. Also if you know how you can use programs like Acid Pro to edit music and voice over.

Lastly, if you will please punch the PA guy in the throat so we can get someone with talent up there. Is he giving Byrne hummers? Can't see why in the hell this *** clown gets to keep that job. Byrne you suck for this.

The music this year has been much better this year than in the past. Keep it up! There will be a lot of recruits at the Egg Bowl so keep it up!

I second that we need more Triple Six Mafia...and keep it loud!

I think I will use some of these request during the Egg Bowl.

As far as, our PA guy...I think he sounds great!

Sorry longhairedguy but WSP will be played at every game I attend!! I love Ween and Drive-By Truckers but I gotta have some Panic to keep me pumped.

Stansfield, you make a good point. It is more or less a song that gets the players fired up. However, that is funny now that you point it out.

ckDog, I would re-open Cheers tomorrow if I could!! Just so everyone knows I was the manager at Cheers for 3yrs and thats where I trained to be a DJ.

NicoSevero, funny you should ask..it was "Ain't Life Grand" by Widespread Panic.

Well, I gotta get back to Cowbells because the Saints game is about to start. Please keep any suggestions or request coming.

one recommendation for some pre-game music,

Carlos Santana/ Eric Clapton,...The Calling... start at the 2:30 mark...runs about 12:30 so play what you want
