Interesting exchanges, but he's ticked because the EV tax credits are going away under the "Big Beautiful Bill", and he's also trying to divorce himself from Trump's "agenda" and get himself back in favor of the left, while maintaining favor with the right.
A bit surprised. I've never known Trump to betray anyone or for relationships with him to go sour. Anyway, Elon's a weirdo who doesn't understand politics or how government works. He makes money. He's good at that, or was.

??? He's openly said that he was fine with the EV tax credits going away and that they needed to, hasn't he? He may be pissed that the big beautiful bill doesn't do enough and not want the EV tax credits to go away if we're not getting the deficit under control anyway.
Elon really did make some dumb business decisions. MAGA loves gas guzzlers and his base was rich lefties who wanted the social prestige associated with supporting environmentalism. He became Dylan Mulvaney for Tesla. But with DOGE he likely gathered a lot of data useful for his companies. Dude knows a lot more than he did just a few months ago.

I don't think Trump is on there in any sort of implicating way. But I do think he's using it to get favors out of the people that are on it. The threat of releasing that doc is way more valuable than actually releasing it - otherwise it would have been public already. Musk probably knows this and is trolling Trump into having to release it and lose all that blackmail capital he finds valuable.
Whatever the truth is, I'm enjoying the public spat. It's junior high level petty.
Trump as president is exhausting. I don’t mean that as commentary on anything he has done politically.

It's a bad look for the President of the United States and Leader of the Free World to have a cat fight on Social Media, but its just a tiny piece of the of the big beautiful "Art of the Deal". It's just another 5G Chess Move that puts us one step closer to being really Great Again, yet again. Some were getting tired and quite frankly bored from all the Winning going on since January, that Musk decided to take one for the MAGA team and play the loser roll for a little while.
