I found this on their message board. Its hilarious to read and see this guy compare Julio Jones to O'neal Wilder...

MSU-Alabama Preview

This is a game on paper that the usual experts say that we should get killed like the Florida game but I disagree and I will illustrate.

The Matchups

Quarterback

MSU- Tyson Lee has not performed at his highest level this season but he stepped up in the Kentucky game especially on the bomb to O'Neal Wilder. He has thrown 11 interceptions on the season but also completes 60 percent of his passes which places him 4th in the SEC. We will need his best effort against Alabama to win. We have a wildcard in Chris Relf who comes in and flat out makes plays and I am intrigued to see how he is used in this game.

Alabama- Greg McElroy started the season strong but started to play poorly although Alabama has still won because of their running game. He had a strong game against LSU but their defense is not as solid as ours. If we can pressure McElroy then he might make a few mistakes.

Breakdown: Our quarterback situation is similar although McElroy looks better on paper throwing 11 touchdowns. Lee and McElroy both are asked to manage game it's just McElroy is doing a better job of doing it. The wildcard is Relf who brings the running dynamic with his playmaking ability.

Advantage: Push

Running Back

MSU- Our running game begins and ends with Anthony "Boobie "Dixon who is one of nations leading rushers. We have Christian Ducre who also provides a punch from time to time but people know what we are going to do its Boobie all the way. I am not expecting much from him this game as Alabama has one of top rush defenses in nation lead by Terrance "Mount" Cody.

Alabama- Mark Ingram is the bell cow for Alabama and a leading Heisman Candidate but he will not have one of those landmark Reggie Bush games against us trust me. What Alabama has that we don't is reliable backups in Trent Richardson, Roy Upchurch, and Terry Grant and that's difference between MSU and Alabama.

Breakdown: Overall I feel Alabama running game is stronger than ours because of their depth having 4 running backs to our 1 in Dizon.

Advantage: Alabama

Receiver/Tight End

MSU- We don't have great experience outside of Brandon McRae who has not been big factor this season. We do have O'Neal Wilder who emerged as a deep threat in the Kentucky game now that he is fully healthy. We have freshmen Bumphis and Heavens but they have not really had a big game all year hopefully they have that game versus Alabama. Marcus Green our starting Tight End started off the season strong but has seen limited looks lately.

Alabama- Alabama passing game has been one of their only weaknesses this season as Julio Jones has suffered the sophomore slump this year. Ingram is one of their leading receivers which is alarming. I don't expect them to do much versus our secondary with Johnthan Banks patrolling the middle.

Breakdown: They have Julio Jones and we now have O'Neal Wilder who I feel is a more elite talent than Jones. Jones had the great freshmen season but he doesn't have the elite speed of Wilder nor the leaping ability. The receiver corps as a whole will cancel each other out as they are what for what.

Advantage- Push

Offensive Line

MSU- Our offensive line has only allowed 12 sacks all season and has played a huge part in MSU being ranked 12th nationally in rushing. They are the unsung heroes of the offensive turnaround of Dan Mullen.

Bama- Alabama has a veteran bruising offensive line that has put Ingram in the forefront of the Heisman race.

Breakdown: Both units are great at run blocking and keep defenses off their quarterbacks.

Advantage: Push

Defense

Defensive Line

MSU- We have a pretty good but young defensive line led by JUCO transfer Pernell McPhee who has lived up to the hype this season being a disruptive force. Kyle Love has done a good job in the middle and our young defensive linemen Devin Jones, Sean Ferguson, Trevor Stigers, Fletcher Cox, and Josh Boyd have all came along nicely this season.

Bama- All I will say is Mount Cody he ***** up 2 or 3 blocks and keeps offensive linemen off their linebackers. He is the main reason they are one of most dominate teams against the rush in the nation. They also have Brandon Deaderick and Marcell Dareus who has 8 sacks on the season.

Advantage: Bama

Linebacker

MSU- We have the best line backing core in the SEC hands down in my opinion with Jamar Chaney, K.J. Wright, and Chris White. How many teams can say they have 3 linebackers in top 25 in SEC in tackles? Teams may be able to get to the second level versus our team but that's as far as they will get.

Bama- Bama has four linebackers instead of three like MSU but they are awesome also lead by one of best middle linebackers in nation in Rolando McClain. They lost Donta Hightower for the season which was a big loss but replaced him with talented freshmen Nico Johnson and Tana Patrick. They also have two seniors Eryk Anders and Corey Reamer flanking Rolando McClain.

Breakdown: McClain leads a talented Alabama unit but I will take Chaney and crew in this one.

Advantage: MSU

Secondary

MSU- We have a pretty good but inexperienced secondary now that the coaches have decided to go with Banks, Langston, and Broomfield in the secondary. Banks looks like a future All-SEC performer. Langston has not been talked about and that's a good thing because it means that other teams are not going his way. Broomfield has proved that it doesn't matter how big you are just that you can play is all that's important. I expect them to contain Julio Jones

Bama- Alabama is ranked 84th in pass defense which shows one chink in the Crimson Tide armor. They have talent in their secondary with Javier Arenas, Justin Woodall, and Mark Barron which makes it so hard to believe that they are so poor in the passing game.

Breakdown: Our secondary the last 3 games have been close to lockdown and I will take them in this game especially since the quarterback is McElroy who has not looked great this season.

Advantage: MSU

Special Teams

MSU- Our special teams have improved with consistent kicking game, strong punting, and Berry putting offense in great field position. We also have got in on a few punts this season which we to do this season. Dan Mullen has taken a special interest coaching this unit and it shows on the field.

Bama- Alabama has one of best kickers in nation in Leigh Tiffin and a dominate returner in Javier Arenas who is instant offense.

Breakdown: We both have good special teams but Javier Arenas is a threat every time he touches the ball and Leigh Tiffin is fairly clutch so Alabama gets the nod on special teams.

Advantage: Bama

Coaching

MSU- Dan Mullen has had an impressive first season as a head coach. There have been a few bad decisions but most could be choked up to inexperience which is expected. One thing about a Dan Mullen team is that they will play hard and relentless.

Bama- Nick Saban resume speaks for itself with a national championship and turning every team he has coached into an elite team. One thing about a Saban team is that they will play hard and not make mistakes.

Breakdown: Mullen will be a great coach I feel but he is not Nick Saban yet as he has not earned that respect.

Advantage: Bama

Keys to Victory

1. Contain Mark Ingram

2. Limit Turnovers leave the gun at home

3. Pressure McElroy

4. Don't Kick to Arenas period

5. A star other than Dixon has to emerge whether it's Relf, Wilder, Bumphis, Heavens, or B-Mac someone has to step up and take the pressure off of Dixon.

The Outcome: Mississippi State and Alabama are similar teams regardless or their records. We both have strong running games, stout defense, and good special teams play. The only difference is that Alabama has not shot themselves in the foot like we have otherwise we are the same team. I think ultimately the deciding factor in the game is MSU's conditioning as Alabama has more depth but I would take our 22 against their 22 anyday. The question is will our offense keep the time of possession battle even as that could keep our defense from getting worn down. Alabama is the type of team that pulls away late after wearing teams down with their powerful running game. Another thing to watch in this game is if Coach Mullen decides to attack Alabama's weakness their pass defense by throwing 30 plus times. If Mullen does this Lee must be up to the challenge and this would be his chance to redeem himself for a poor senior campaign. I personally think this game will be a classic and is definitely and UPSET ALERT game. Alabama will not take us lightly so MSU better be ready a physical and tough game.
