C-USA will merge with what's left of the Big 12 Conference. Just passing along another rumor on the interwebs. They think they will retain the BCS standing.

Iowa State and Baylor may end up in CUSA, but Kansas, K-State and Mizzou will go with the MWC, and so will the BCS bid.

On the scale of Germany vs. France (before England and the US got involved). As you say, the MWC will get who they want and a BCS bid, and CUSA will get the leftovers.

can swing some money. Seven bowl tie-ins have increased their payouts significantly

Plus, a little known fact. Kansas and Kansas State are part-time members of C-USA already (rowing)

Traditional wisdom says MWC, but if this thing is truly about money, C-USA may have the nod, could reclaim TCU, get the Big 12 leftovers and drop a couple of teams. With TCU's BCS bid, the MWC still did not match what C-USA paid their teams.

Crap, thats terrible. I really though the MWC was better than that...at least based on who they have in their conference.

Most are a break-even proposition at best. The MWC has 5 bowls itself (among fewer teams). Not to mention the MWC could get a BCS bowl out of this.
