Mutt and others, need dinner rec for meridian tonight. Prefer a local place in the heart of downtown. Good southern food if possible.

I like "Bridget's" myself. Great food, great people, and a great price. I highly recommend it to anyone going through Meridian. It's off Exit 153 on 22nd Ave. Heights (By the new El Norte).

I never miss a chance to stop by and chat with the owners when I'm travelling through. You won't find a more genuine pair than those two...

News is where it's at. Be forewarned though, it's one of those old restaurants where if you order a Coke, it comes in a can, so get sweet tea instead.

Love that place.

The Chilli House just moved downtown and I would recommend it for some really good food. Also, try the Hungry Heffer.

The Red Beans & Rice reminded me of Fat Tuesday's in Jackson. The place is SMALL, though.
