If his statement about wanting to go to the NBA after next season is still valid then he is an idiot to leave and have to sit out a year due to transfer rules. That would delay his jump to the league by a another year. That being said I think he is still gone. If he is still working out with the team then I have to assume it is at the new practice facility. Makes me wonder ifRay told him that this facility is for team members only and that if he is leaving the team he can go play pick up games over at the Sanderson Center if that would force his hand any.

why on earth would Ray let his team workout with someone who is leaving? That would be dumb as **** by Ray. Keep the cancerous attitude away please unless Hood is coming back he shouldn't be taking part in anything MSU basketball.

just because he wants to transfer. That's pretty homeristic there. If I were the coach I wouldn't let him practice, but it can't hurt the returning players to practice with a guy that has Hood's skill set. I'm not gonna bash Ray for this.

Hood's a good kid and wouldn't be an attitude problem even if he is leaving. The longer he (and Pollard) go without announcing another school, the better our chances are. But I'm just assuming both are gone until I hear differently.

I assume he's still gone but we're basically recruiting the kid all over again so why not let him play with the guys? It can only help make the existing guys better and also gives you the best shot to retain his services.

What's interesting to me as well is that all these other schools (OSU, Duke, FSU) apparently all have a banked scholarship to give him next year. I assumed most teams didn't bank too many as we would be the exception b/c of our unusual circumstances this year

That article is an old thread from May 3rd that has been bumped the other day. Not a new story and not really any new developments

That article was from 3 weeks ago. It was bumped yesterday by a poster asking for an update. I believe Hood is home now. He won't be back.

doesn't sound like Ray holds any hope that Hood will be back.

-- In a one-on-one interview with The Dispatch, Ray said he encouraged his current players to continue playing pick-up basketball at the newly constructed Mize Pavilion practice facility with Hood but said any rumors of the former 2011 Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Mississippi returning to the Bulldogs program are "simply not true". --
