in the sky yesterday afternoon. It was a good grill, a brave grill...but I digress. Wife and I went out to Lowes last evening and damned if the Weber 2 burner doesn't cost more now than I paid for my Silver years ago. I'm outraged....thanks obama[jumpingsmile]

That's why I switched to Char-Broil grills, also based in Columbus, GA with a great parts supply chain. You can re-build a Char-Broil for cheap over and over again. I only get rid of them when the carcass finally fails altogether.

This is true. Mine lasted 12 years and had several parts replaced over the years, however, I noticed the parts seemed to not be as sturdy the last few. I did a bunch of reading and decided on the 26" Webber as a replacement.

Infrared? GTFO of here.
I got an infrared oil-less turkey fryer over the summer and used it for Thanksgiving this year. Produced about the same quality bird, skin is a little crispier on the oil version, but waaaaay less clean up. I haven't oven-baked a turkey in years, fryers are the way to go; faster and easier and the infrared is even easier.
