My apologies.....

This morning I started a thread about the recent shooting on campus. It quickly turned into an Ole Miss/MSU smack thread.

That was not my intention.

My wife lived in Arbor Acres, therefore my interest.

I actually grew up in the confines of MSU....I grew up with Taco Hut/Baba O'Reilly's (sp)/Cheers (all the same building), Four Squires/Mulligans, The Frat House (bet many here don't remember that one), Crossroads, Echols, Mac's, The Landing, The Club (what a meat market), Ray Reed's Game Room by the old movie theater behind the log cabin Burger King and every other watering hole you can imagine.

I spent many dollars at the old Derby Motel for a cheap night of fun.

I've tried to plant more than flowers at Eckie's Pond.

I used to go to movies up on Main Street next to Starkville Cafe for 98 cents on WKOR night.....

To make a long post longer.....I didn't want to go to MSU because it would be like going to high school all over again.....so I was one of the few.....very few, from my area that went to Ole Miss.

I still have many friends/family in the Starkville area and it does concern me about the recent events on campus. Back in my day, that stuff only happened in Brooksville Gardens or way down the Blackjack/Poorhouse Road areas.....

Times have changed.

Anyway.....consider this my apology for starting a smack thread.......

That was not my intent.

You wanted to be the "go against the grain" guy from Starkville and not only not go to State but go to Ole Miss. Instead of going to "high school all over again", you didn't choose to go to Alabama or LSU or Georgia Tech or Memphis or Vandy, you chose to go to Ole Miss. I am sure they had just the academic situation you needed. Congratulations Hayley Smith.

I have no idea who Hayley Smith is.....I do personally know the illustrious Art, Frog, Pickle and Fruit.....not to mention literary shrines like Marc Anthony....hell, I even knew Hot Roach.

If you're from vegas, you know the wrecker driver, reptile, vegetable, fruit, the subject of novels and the overall/no shirt wearing bicycle pedaler.

I saw the thread and we probably had a few guys get a little defensive, but I didn't think you were out of line at all.
