That many in our fanbase have the audacity to think that our "lowly" Bulldogs can take down their mighty Tide.

That perpetual arrogance is why we detest them so much.
Eleven days from now, I'm wanting a W.
Dang it, I'm expecting it.

The security guard chick at UK Commonwealth Stadium last Saturday told me she'd never seen such a crowd of visiting fans greet their team when they got off the bus. Ninja started shaking hands and shmoozing with the fans as soon as he de-bused.

That's the excitement for MSU football now. It can get better.

because 98% of them have no idea we've played .500 ball with them the last few years

some Alabama fan came up to me and started telling me that us (MSU of course) being happy that we beat them was stupid because Alabama had a better chance of winning the SEC Championship Game than LSU or whoever for the SEC West.

He was dead serious to.

Probably the most bizarre thing an opposing fan has ever told me, and even more bizarre rationale.

I told him that I didn't care who won the SEC Championship Game.

I also remember my first MSU/Bama game which was 1992. My Dad got tickets for my family and some of his Alabama fan co-workers, and out of courtesey I guess, he got the tickets in the Alabama section. Or maybe he was afraid that his co-worker friend would get his *** kicked in the State section because he was pretty vocal. I don't know. The things that those Bama fans were saying throughout the game were insane. It was stuff like "It's our birth right to win", and "I believe in my team" when State had the momentum, which wasn't so insane as it was annoying because it seemed like after everytime they said that, MSU would screw something up, Bama would come through.

That game sucked because I was one of two or three State fans in the Bama section cheering for State, and it seemed like a road game. That and the fact that State lost because Roy Kramer hit his red button to the official to over turn the Jay Barker fumble to protect Bama.

My Dad got some payback six years later when I was in college at MSU. JJ Johnson had just gone off on them aGAIN this time in Starkville, and on campus some Alabama bookstore I guess was selling Alabama stuff on MSU's campus near the BSU. So, my parents and I are riding around after the game in my Dad's car and we pass the "merchants". My Dad stops the car and sticks his head out the window and starts making fun of them. He was saying stuff like- "Hey, you got any STATE stuff over there- you know the team that whipped your tail today? I don't want any Bama stuff." Which is totally unlike him. My Mom made him move along because she was embarassed.

but from my experiences I would have to put them at the top. Most of them don't understand how somebody born in Alabama isn't an Alabama fan.

Six of the last 13, almost 50% of the time. Not only that, but the last time we beat them was with their Sainted Nick Saban coaching against Sylvester Croom, of all people.

Now that The Mississippi State University has gotten rid of all the Alabama inferiority complex people out of our program, and put in a Florida superiority complex Head Coach mentality, it'll take a lot for Bammer to upset the Bulldogs.

Bama is really good this year. Much better than they were even last year. I don't think this game will be close, but you never know. It falls at a weird place on their schedule.</p>

just recently moving back to MS I feel your pain. Bammers are the worst in the conference, Fla = yankees, LSU = drunken coonass that don't know any better, Bammers = idiots with a sense of football entitlement. I had freind who's equip tech quit because he would not allow him to hang a 4 x 18 bammer banner in his shop. He was floored but put his *** in the street and wound up with a better tech in the end. It's not bad money for a guy with no education but this idiot put bammer footaball ahead of his job and his family.

...they're defense will be tired from playing LSU, and DWS will be rocking. Just because lil ol Ole Miss couldn't muster a TD against them doesn't mean The Mississippi State University won't continue its recent dominance of our mullet-headed, sister-lovin' cousins to the east.

I had a neighborhood football party several years back. My wife suggested that we invite the new couple that just moved in from Georgia. The husband was a UGA grad. Anyway, the drinks were flowing, the Dawgs were playing on TV, and this dip **** Georgia grad says "I don't want to sound stupid, but what conference does Mississippi State play in?" Long story short, he never was invited into the inner circle again, and they eventually moved.

Three things must happen for us to win:

1. We contain Ingram.
2. We don't let Arenas destroy us on special teams returns.
3. Dixon has fun fun fun.

I don't want to steal the spot light from the Gumps. But a UT fan told me, almost, the same thing at the SECCG in 98. Loosely quoted, "I can not believe you are going to hope Mississippi State wins and ruins UT national championship hopes." This UT fan knows I have been a State fan my entire life.

Frustrating truth of the matter is that all SEC fans, except maybe Vandy, expect to beat us every game. I have learned this first hand living outside MS for a number of years. But it makes it that much sweeter when they don't.

UT fans rival Bama fans for their ignorance. They have the 'state pride' thing for UT just like the trailer park dwellers of Alabama do. It is annoying as hell.

Every UGA fan I've ever met has been really cool. One of my best friends from law school is an UGA grad.

I walked around with 2 fingers in the air yelling "I need 2 tickets, 2 tickets. I need two tickets to the Sugar Bowl." We win=Sugar Bowl; they win=Nat Champ. game. I can't count the number of UT fans I had yell back that they were going to win and go to the Sugar Bowl, not us.

edit: that was many years back. spare me if the Sugar bowl is the wrong bowl.
