We smashed Memphis in convincing fashion, but left a few questions moving forward.
1) No drives. We scored often and quickly when we did, but we were also stopped five times by the Memphis Defense. We will not be able to break the big plays so often against faster and more disciplined SEC defenses. So I am most concerned that the only drive of more than 6 plays was the last one (10 plays) with Tyler at the helm.
2) Linebackers. LB play was pretty bad last night. Forget poor tackling, they didn't get close enough on most plays. One of the times that Cam got pancaked, I was glad because it got him out of the way of other defenders. Neither Wilson or Maye seemed to be a solution at MLB. On the other hand, Wells played well, Skinner looked pretty good and Bohanna looked OK. And of course, Hughes took himself out by being ineligible. It will be interesting to see what the coaching staff comes up with after grading the film. Collins has pulle dit off before.
3) Of smaller concern is all of the mental mistakes. The illegal procedures, the mistakes in the return came and others can be substantially corrected.
