I bought my ticket last minute Friday night for 48 dollars after convenience fees and all. Not bad. I live 2 hours away and I picked up my ticket at the Hampton Inn off I-12 about 1 mile from campus at 3pm. Traffic was what you'd normally expect for the home opener at this point....not terrible though. Stadium really really really does smell like corndogs in the concession/bathroom area. We were in 642, row EE. I'd say the top of DV isn't much higher than DWS, if it is at all, but it's MUCH steeper. You fee like if you lean too far over you'll fall right onto the Tiger Eye.

Anyways you all know what happened at the game. We left at TR's 3rd pic, got the Tiger Bait calls on the way out, but nothing hateful, after all they were elated. My phone was dying/didn't have good reception out there so it took me 30 minutes to meet up with the rest of my group. Eventually made it to the car, it's now about 9 30. Flash forward to 10:45 and we're finally back at the hotel, which was a mile away to get in our separate cars for the different drives home.

Get on 1-12 and its 15 mph stop and go. Then it merges to one lane and everyone takes off unexplainably. They're up to 50 mph so I accelarate to get up in the flow of traffic. Then: brake lights, cars lurching forward, veering out of the way, and I'm barreling down on this car at 40. Boom, rear end her into another SUV. 2 cars totaled, one with significant damage, all my fault. FML. 5 hours later I make it home, and never want to go back to that God-forsaken bayou again.

At least OM sucks too.

Always congestion that slows you down to your stated 15 mph, with occcasional stops. Then pedal to the metal for a few feet then lock the brakes and pray. Then sprinkle in the typical Louisianna drivers with the 4wd pickups and the lawyers in the BMWs with a pissed off attitude. I ruin my seatcovers every time I have to drive it.

I was able to leave work @ 1:30 yesterday. So, I decided last minute to head to B.R., from Gulfport, with no ticket in hand. Left town at 2:00, in Baton Rouge @4:00. Found parking spot in free parking area off Stadium Dr. @ 5:00. The fans must have expected to beat us by 100, for they were not-so-savage. Except for few intoxicated trailer park baby makers, everyone was WAY more hospitable than usual.

Found a ticket in Section 404, row 20, for $30. Which a very nice visitors' section seat. Good that I paid 60% face value, for I did not stay for 60% of the game. Being the 1st half as it was, I decided to cut my losses and avoid traffic. I left at the start of the Halftime activities. (approx. 7:30) Used a car parking app on my iPhone to help me find my car, which must have been in Port Allen. Headed to the Starbucks off College Dr., to dose up before the ride home. With Russell's TD pass, I began to question my move. Unfortunately, My decision was affirmed soon afterwards.

I left Starbucks at 8:15, only to listen to Jim Hawthorne whine like the sandy ****** homer he is on the Big 870. That bunch in the booth for LSU in no way suffer from low self esteem. They know EVERYTHING.

Anyway, I was 10 miles on the East side of Hammond when the game ended. I was in my house at 10:15.

Compared to the unfortunate happenings of coastdog, and the punch in the mouth our Dogs took, I had a really good night. Well... Except for my clothes smelling like corn dogs...

I12 on the North side all the way from Hammond to Baton Rouge. It`s two lane with some small towns and some red lights but it beats a traffic jam.

As I was plowing into the back of her, I wasn't thinking about the fact that I or the people I was hitting could be hurt. No, I was very worried that a SPS poster would be caught in the jam that followed. 17 off.
