My God, this board is proving right now why group-think is so dangerous

If anything, the information released today made us look better. We go from a car to a 150 dollar handshake reported by a less than trustworthy source, yet we have people on here talking about bowl bans. Bowl bans...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If you really want to do something proactive, tell stricklin to grow a sack and stand up for his University. I love my school, but it's crap like this that makes me wonder about the fans around me. My God, even OM doesn't do this BS.

Now go back to talking about how we might lose to Troy.

They would if they'd have gotten the punishment we did during Sherrill. Personally, I believe we have a total right to panic given what typically happens to us when we burp and what typically doesn't happen to everyone else when they vomit.

Just sayin'.

No ****. I've said it several times, but it's still true. We have some of the stupidest fans in the world.

What all you fools are failing to realize is that we were REPEAT OFFENDERS before under Sherrill. That is why we got hammered. Not because "they caught us doing some little something." This is why that approach is ridiculous and retarded.

Under Mullen, we don't fall under the REPEAT OFFENDERS clause. That's why this is not a big deal. IF we get caught for something else next year, while currently on probation, THEN you can compare the situation. Until then, STFU, it has NOTHING in common.

It was the second time in recent years the Mississippi State football program has been sanctioned by the NCAA. Mississippi State is considered a repeat offender because the school also lost 13 scholarships after an investigation in 1996.
"Of additional concern to the committee was that both the 1996 case and this case involved the football program and a coaching staff that should have been extra attentive to the heightened consequence a repeat violator faces if it is involved in major violations," the committee said in the statement.

Note that at the point of the period in question in the second NCAA investigation(beginning in 1998) we were still on probation.

While it is a word, I hope you were using "stupidest" to prove your point.

I'm going to ignore the fact that in the same post you called me a fool, ridiculous, retarded and told me to STFU.

Secondly, my point was take what we did and compare it to what UT and AU did and then compare our penalties to their total LACK of penalties. I'm well aware that we were REPEAT OFFENDERS, but thanks for the gentle reminder anyway.

If you aren't nervous about all of this simply based on who we are, then I'm not sure I can explain my viewpoint to you.

Link to UT and Auburn being REPEAT OFFENDERS. Can you?

Alabama was a repeat offender for Albert Means....The NCAA REALLY took it easy on them.

Engie, I'm really not arguing with you....I just think you're missing my point; I GET yours....I'm not talking about Alabama.
Let's try it this way...forget everything I've said up to this point....I'm glad Tee Martin's incident didn't happen at MSU. I'm glad Cam Newton didn't end up at State (minus the NC we'd have won). I'm glad because the NCAA would've hammered us because we're a little fish. I'm nervous because of who we are, not what we "did".

I feel like this because I've been a fan for dang near 40 years...no other reason. I may be overreacting, but I'm certainly no fool. You likely aren't either.

Sorry, not buying it. To be a repeat offender you have to have actually done something. All they got us for was paying a few hundred dollars for a kid to take summer classes, who wound up not even signing with us. The rest of it was a bunch of he said she said stuff. Kind of like what's going on now. They hammered us brcause they got PAID to in order to get Jackie out of football
