So intent on bashing Stansbury on every possible point that even the people who couldn't care less can care less.

and were barely above .500. We have been on a steady decline since we got destroyed as a #2 against Xavier. That was like 7-8 years ago. That's a lot of players ago and only like 3 of them stayed 4 years and got better. Jarvis, Timmy, Barry (maybe forgetting 1 or 2). It's obvious to a lot of people Stansbury can't keep his talent, can't make his players better, can't make them stronger, can't make us a perennial top 20 program. That's our goal is it not yours? When do you wanna be a winner? Is tomorrow ok for you or would you prefer to wait longer?

What an a-hole numbnut. Truly an ignorant (but "cool" sounding) individual, as are many of you on this board. Sure that's a goal. But you can't go firing a winning coach that that has us in the NCAA tournament every other season and wins the West more than any other team during his tenure here. Not until he strings together at least one more season without making the NCAA.<div>
</div><div>MSU has NEVER been a perennial top 20 team in ANYTHING except baseball, and that ended 20 years ago. It's a noble goal, just not one you fire you coach for not living up to. You fire your coach for losing consistently. Stans is currently in his 3rd worst season of 13, and he has proven yet again that he can stand up to the pressures of the job by getting the ship righted this year. It's not perfect, but if we could reset the season right now, we'd be a decent little team. </div><div>
</div><div>You cannot rationally make a decision based on an outlier year. And you cannot rationally expect us to have a #2 seed very often.

our magical year as a #2 was that we got blasted in the second round by Xavier!! That's the best we get 1 outta every 15 years? No thanks!! I'll take my chances on the next guy. See a lot of us on here remember the feeling of making the final four and guess what? We havn't even sniffed it since so if you let us taste the ***** and then it's gone you better damn sure be making strides to getting that ***** again or guess what? Like Tom Green said "you're #@%+%$+ FIRED!!!". It's obvious Stansbury can't get us there again and that's the standard he was put up against when he took the job. Richard Williams can so the next guy better be able to also or else your program is declining!! It's been 15 years. Are you ready to be a winner tomorrow or do you need more time?

The goal is to win the National Championship. It never changes. There are steps you try to conquer in order to achieve your goal of winning a National Championship. You start small like let's say 1. Win the West 2. Make the NCAA 3. Win the SEC tournament 4. Win the SEC outright 5. Make the sweet sixteen 6. Make the Final Four 7. Win the National Championship. Now you can accomplish 1-6 in any order per say but once you do it's no longer satisfactory to only be happy with the same step you already achieved. If it is there is no hope of ever achieving #7. We ALREADY achieved #6 15 years ago so how are we doing on our progress to #7? Not so good I'd say since Bury can't even make it to the sweet sixteen. It's time to give the next guy a chance or are you just satisfied with never winning a National Championship? I'm not!! Hell %#*+**$ BUTLER just came one inch away from winning one!!

He will not do better than he's done because to get further in the NCAA means you have to outcoach the other guys and teams that make the sweet 16 have good coaches.

Yes, it's scary. We could very well hire someone who wont do what Stans has done against our main rivals or get us to a tournament every other year. But he will NEVER get us to a NC.

1. We got to taste something better once andI want that again, or at least the potential of it.
2. Iam tired of watching talented players in media trainwreck after trainwreck.
3. Bama had the same situation and improved their program.

The Butler loss and the Xavier loss were just proof positive that you can be more talented and lose if your coach isnt good enough to match wits with the other coach.

seems to skull drag him about every time they play, and billy has mcdonald's all americans all over his team and two or three NC banners hanging.<div>
</div><div>2 games (butler....buzzer beater, and a team that made it to the elite 8 i think), and xavier (just had a great day---stansbury had beaten that same team earlier in the year or the year before pretty badly--pretty sure 2 or 3 times in a row against a very good coach) doesn't prove you are "outcoached", memphis at LR against the great Cal--they went to the NC game (and should have won it--choke), and we had a shot at the buzzer to tie it--they had a guy come off the bench and hit a bunch of 3's or we would have won that--that team had what is now one of the top 10 NBA players on it</div><div>
</div><div>also seem to recall stansbury almost beating coach K in the tourney with gary ervin, a very young charles rhodes, etc. while K had about 9 mcdonald's all americans--should have--I was there, and there was some tobacco road officiating the last 5 minutes or so</div><div>
</div><div>not saying stansbury is phil jackson on the x's and o's, but to suggest he is terrible just makes no sense to me at all--the tournament is a crapshoot, stansbury is an avg x's and o's guy--he will need to have some decent breaks, but he can get us there. I would much rather stick it out than go back to pre Stansbury showing up on our campus 20 years ago--he has a lot to do with the sweet 16 and final 4 banner by the way--we weren't a top 100 program for about 30 years before he got here</div>

Check how they are doing now. The same minority never change and believe me, the group on this board that bashes Stans at every turn is a minority. They say they expect us to get to the Sweet Sixteen or Final Four every year but not many teams do that and they sure don't have to recruit to Starkville Ms. Give me Duane Wade atMarquetteand a couple of pro players like Brady had and I could make the Final Four. Stans can't win with folks. If he beats his arch rival like a drum then they are simply no good according to the experts. If they had beat him then they would have been better, that is for sure. If Alabama wins the west then the media says they deserve to be in the dance. Therein is the biggest problem for any coach at MSU and not just Stans. If we win the tourney and beat all these so-called NCAA tourney teams such as Ky, Fla, Tenn, Vandy, the fools on here complain that was backing in. That is pure ******** because it is the system we play under. Stans ain't perfect but he was given a short deck this season by the NCAA and also by a lazy *** complaince officer who could have had Dee playing 9 games earlier. Stans isn't going anywhere this year and I challenged our dear ring leader Coach 34 to go one day without bitching after a good win yesterday and he went a full 20 minutes. If we don't improve next year with Bost, Sidney, Moultrie,Steele, Lewis, and the incoming Freshmenstellar crop, then I will say it might be time, but I have faith this team will only get better and if Sidney has learned what it takes to play in this league, look out because he is a special talent and will only get better. Meanwhile the detractors will waste all their energy bitching and moaning and enjoying being miserable especially when we win.
