I think he's informed them he's definitely leaving for LSU and they have come to an agreement that he can coach the SECCG if Bama loses, but not the playoffs.

Waiting for the Iron Bowl to end to announce.

Truly just a guess.

When they said a statement in his future would be made Saturday, no Shitbird thought they meant 11:59 Saturday night. They may not even make that deadline.

I think that's the only thing that makes sense situationally for both programs at this point.

There definitely seems to be some consideration to not only announcing the decision, but also the timing of when said decision takes effect.

But it also seems they didn’t need to wait on the end of the Iron Bowl to state whether or not he could coach in the SEC title game. Whether that info eventually becomes moot could be left to a later time.

LSU is going to allow him to coach OM through the playoffs. I mean.. every time he’s on tv they’ll be talking about his new gig.

OM can’t let him coach through the playoffs if he’s leaving.

If OM doesn’t let him coach through the playoffs they’ve effectively fired him without cause and contracts nshit will come into play.

And to add insult to injury, evidently Kiffin says the coaches and team will bolt if he’s not there.

Keith Carter and Johnny Reb are in a tough spot.

Christmas has indeed come early.

Statement didn’t say that, it was worded as, “is expected”.

Been thinking about this. It may just be that they didn't want to take any focus off this game by announcing something while such a consequential game (SEC wise) is playing out.

Its very simple. He wants to finish the season coaching his team. LSU apparently is fine with that. OM is not. Why not ? What secrets will he steal ? What players will he steal ? Its stupid to not allow it. The team will be better with Lane. Maybe they will win one or two max. Then it's over. Coaches and players are gonna follow Lane regardless.

If you've ever listen to Stoernor on 103.7 the buzz sports talk.... you'd realize why players don't always make the best coaches or administrators. He isn't very bright

The entire situation sounds like something that would happen to State (assuming that we'd ever be at 11-1, which is a huge assumption).
