Can you think of when you could still be on a basketball team if you simply didn't go to practice for two days?

I thought about this, I've volunteered some time and helped coach in different sports for various ages, and Im wondering when you are no longer on the team when you stop coming to practice for a couple of days.

I know in High School if you missed a basketball practice for no reason, you were done. If you were sick or had a school issue come up you normally had to make up the work, but simply not showing up?

It reminds me of a time I was coaching and a kid hadn't showed up for two practices and showed up day before the game, and I asked him where he had been. He said with a straight face, "Coach the fair is in town". His dad was also out of town on business, and when I told the dad what happened, he lost it. Im thinking that around the ages of 12-14 that if you stop coming to practice you automatically are off the team. I can't think of a 9th grade sport that would allow you to stay on the team if you stopped showing up for practice.

Cue Iverson...."we talkn bout practice mane."

Seriously, that has been my experience as well. You are right.

But my quess...... Ravern is probably pissed Shug Knight didn't get suspended as well. But that doesn't excuse it. Also Shug shouldn't be around anyway. I don't care how good you are or who started it. Also you don't send one packing and not the other.

he's at least back practicing now. This at least explains why he was REALLY suspended Saturday and Sidney was not. It wasn't so much for the tweet as it was for ditching practice and apparently his classes for 2 days. Hard to believe a guy could be a senior and still be acting this way. Heck, even Charles Rhodes and Kodi Augustus show that most players do eventually grow up as a senior. I'm starting to really wonder why Ravern came back at all? To publicly go off on the coaches in a game that you played 40 minutes seems asinine.

and foremost, right? I mean they're student athletes, these guys? Right? They play for the love of the game and the chance to get a degree, right?
