My interaction with Wake Forest fans...

<p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal">I will give you an abbreviated version of my Wake Forest fan experience:</p><p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"></p>

1. An extremely inebriated <place><placename>Wake</placename> <placetype>Forest</placetype></place> fan who talked light hearted smack sitting three seats down didn’t bother me until he came down the aisle and knocked my drink out of the cup holder in front of my seat. He said he was sorry and offered to buy me another drink. No harm, no foul.</p><p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"></p>

2. As I was returning from the restroom (in the tunnel) going to my seat, I hear…”17 MSU” and “17 The Bulldogs”…I ignore this and allow time for the guy to reach me, and I look at him, and he is also extremely inebriated. He says, “17 you” I then respond with the obvious 17 you! This is the most shocking; he says if you want to “17 me” come down to my section. I ignore, and his friend escorts him away.</p><p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"></p>

3. After the game, we were watching the post game celebration and this rather hot, tight shirted <place><placename>Wake</placename> <placetype>Forest</placetype></place> female fan (late 20’s) was stumbling up the steps flipping off all of the state fans in our section. She was dropping to her knees flipping us off and making a statement about the penalties we had when we were kneeing the ball to end the game. The sad part of it was that her husband was carrying her young child behind her, and he never looked up. However, the woman was rather hot and you could see her pink thong sticking out from her blue jeans.</p><p style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class="MsoNormal"></p>

4. Three college aged girls behind us were making condescending statements about MSU’s graduation rate. I started to engage them and discuss how those numbers were skewed due to the fact we have a larger enrollment and other previously mentioned reasons, but I never responded.

That's all I got...</p>

I don't see what that has to do with the football game AT ALL.<div>
</div><div>Our state does not have the benefit of having Duke, UNC, WF, Davidson, etc. but I think that MSU and UM do a great job of educating our citizens towards their respective fields. And them not knowing we are well known regionally for engineering is their ignorance. Not to mention our undergraduates often get into those prestigious North Carolina and other most impressive places to finish their education.</div><div>

during my middle school days and the one thing that I remember about Wake Forest was that when a kid went to Wake, they were revered around the community much more so than if they got into Duke. I'm talking oooh's and aaah's from the crowd. Granted, unless I'm mistaken Duke is populated mostly by out of state students and that may have had something to do with it.

in their section, but we conversed about the game the whole time. Also, there were good amount of state fans in 243, including some with large cowbells. It was interesting to see their perspective on the flags and big plays, as they acted like they 'were robbed!'

The Blue Moon was also very cold and tasty!

did I see any of our fans act like jerks but I am sure there was a little on both sides. The encounters I had were all positive. Overall, a great experience in Nashville, it is a very nice city, I am jealous.

From Thursday to Saturday, I did not have a single negative word or gesture thrown my way. This was a huge contrast when compared to Michigan fans last year.

Academic smack talk at a football game to me pretty much says "we suck so let's shift the conversation to a topic where we feel we are superior: education."

That's ok at a theoretical physics symposium. Not a bowl game.

...I was night-skiing in Banner Elk, North Carolina back in 1987. I was going up the lift, when all the power in the valley went out. The guy that was on the lift with me was a Wake Forest student. During thetimethe power was out, all he could do was talk about how he wished he had a joint. If I DID have a joint, I certainly wouldn't have let him have it. After about 45 minutes, I was about ready to jump off the ski lift (which was bout 15 feet off the ground).

Because I that, I now believe ALL Wake Forest people are semiliterate, pot-smoking whiners.

I didn'tsee manyWake fans. My first interaction was just before the pep rally Friday afternoon there was a family of Deacons with their little fat kids blowing a vuvuzela at the corner of 2nd and Broadway.

After that my wife and I ate at Tazza, a huge mistake by the way. Plates, were dirty, glasses were dirty, the room was really dark, and hard to see, but I could tell the place wasn't very clean. Their motto says the name means fresh. Yes, fresh from the cardboard box it came frozen in. The supposed best thing on the menu, thecajun chicken shrimp alfredo, was horrible. I woke up Saturday morning to stomach pains and the *****. Anyway, while I was sitting there regretting the decision to step foot in the place a large group of Wake fans came in. The waiter said it's been all MSU fans so far, you guys are the first Wake fans. One of the women in the group chimed in and said, well don't worry because we're better than them.

The last interaction I had was today as I was leaving my hotel. We were in a full elevator heading down when it stopped, the doors open and a Wake fan was standing there. The blonde up front said we don't want any Wake fans in here because you guys stink, which I admit I laughed at. As we got to the bottom floor and seperated ways, the blonde turned around and said to my wife and I roll tide!!! I'm sure there'll be more bitching on Wake boards today about rude MSU fans at the Sheraton when it was actually a Bama fan.

was the abundance of guys in skinny jeans. Other than that, they looked like your typical ACC fanbase. That, and I think I saw one attractive Wake female in my three days in Nashville.<div id="isChromeWebToolbarDiv" style="display:none"></div>

See Vandy, heck Millsaps runs academic smack.

Lest we forget the Vandy writer in 1999 that made comments about our JUCO football players.

Fortunately, Smoot and his boys took care of business 42-14 with some classic trash talk thrown in as well.

But there was some wake fans in the bulldog club Section. It was a family of 4 with obviously one of the boys friends with them....about the age of driving I guess. They had zero football knowledge and was surprised it took so long to play "2 twelve minute quarters".

But when the band came out at the half, the whole family dissected our ratio of bass drums to trumpets and horns. I **** you not. Even snickered among themselves about not being able to hear certain instruments. I heard no comments from all 12 or so of wakes band came out

As an alumnus of the FMB I care about such things and the disparity was quite remarkable.

it seemed like their band was really small compared to our band. I would assume this is why they sounded like a high school band as someone has already mentioned. Not sure if quantity always means better quality when comparing bands??
