My New State Top 10 (October 8th)

As always, just my opinion. Feel free to share your top 10 as well.

October 8th:

1. Essex- Unexpected bye week
2. Riverheads- Pulled away in the 4th over BG
3. Lunenburg- Cruised over Cumberland
4. Galax- Closer than expected win over FC
5. Grayson - Devils move to 6-0
6. King and Queen- Bye week for the Tigers
7. Patrick Henry- Two huge wins in 4 days
8. Grundy- Surprisingly had their way with GW
9. Narrows- Wave should cruise to 9-1
10. George Wythe- Physical game and loss to Grundy

Fellas Grundy is no joke they are physical and my god they will hit you the whole team. And last night they played fundamental football with very few mistakes. Those boys will not back down from anyone and if you can't slow that run game down pack a lunch you're gonna need it.

Patrick Henry beat Grundy in week one. I'd pick those two to have a rematch in the Region D championship if it began today. But there's a couple other teams who could be in the mix too. I will say that I don't think it's a foregone conclusion like in recent years that Region C will beat Region D in the state semifinals

I agree man this could be a good on I'm the semis this year. I've seen a few 1A teams live this year and Grundy has looked the best to me so far. Just goes to show you can't pick the outcome of a game based off of common opponents. I think the 4 teams in D that have a shot are Grundy, PH, RR and Lebanon with imo Grundy being the eventual winner of D.

It definitely sounds like it to me too. Two ground and pound, smash mouth football teams. Right up my alley!!!

Yes they are very similar in the way they attack the line.
