Decided to head to Oxford this weekend to see some friends. Wore my state visor into the grove thinking I would catch endless ****. Not one word was said to me...not a word. Got into the game right when it started and had absolutely no problems finding good seats in the student section. I know its been mentioned before but there may have been 25,000 people in that stadium at its peak. The Yell "O" campaign is definitely not taking off. I am serious when I say I have never been in a quieter stadium. After halftime almost their entire student section was gone I'd say maybe 5 percent of it actually remained. The highlight was definitely when I popped up on their jumbotron for about 10 seconds with me pointing to my MState logo on my visor and getting the whole stadium to boo me. I was glad I finally got a rise out of them. Heres what I took from the game: Their fanbase has a whole level of complacency I cannot even begin to comprehend. Granted it was against ULL but it was actually a close game and homecoming and at night. The fact that I was able to walk around with my state visor and get hardly any **** blew my mind, the typical response from my Ole Miss friend was "well no one here really cares about State." That might be true but whats sadder is I don't think they care in general. I could've just as easily worn an LSU visor and I still don't think anyone would've said much. All anyone really cared about was getting absolutely plastered. I like getting drunk just as much as the next guy, but this was the kind of drunk where a 15 year old steals whiskey from their parents and drinks for the first time. I went into the bathroom at Taylors Pub and some jackass had vomited all into the urinal and in the stall someone had tried to flush a scarf down the toilet. And god forbid anyone would've had a **** attack because someone had torn off the toilet seat. I understand being a party school but that was just retarded. Alabama's a huge party school and I havent seen anything like that there.<div>
</div><div>Added Bonus: I actually heard a guy in the bar say these words with all seriousness to his friend "well we're Ole Miss and we're better than everyone else"....good god I cannot wait for the egg bowl.</div>

I was there yesterday too and turned down numerous 5 dollar ticket offers. I too hope we skulldrag those arrogant pricks along with Tennessee and the Taigas. Some of the arrogance I witnessed in the Grove made my stomach cringe.

I was wondering if the Grove was at least full? I've been to several games there were they get so involved with drinking and partying in the grove they don't go into the stadium......

Do you think it might have been because we have three wins, we were playing an ooc game, and it was thirty 17ing degrees outside thesaturday after Auburn beat the hell out of us..........or is it that Ole Miss is just a horrible atmosphere in which to watch football and tailgate? And the nerve of us not being rude to you! I mean, all I ever hear from you clowns is badly we hate y'all and how rude we are. Why didn't we pick a fight with you anyway? Maybe because everyone that saw you knows you were there to prove something, and decided to allow you to stew in your own hate. When I saw you on the jumbotron, the first thing that came to my mind is that token Alabama fan that wears his duds to every game he attends, regardless of whether bama is on the field. My buddy turned to me and said, "Look at this 17ing retard. I can't wait until the Egg Bowl." Joke's on you, pal. You're the short dick ******* walking around reporting on your in-state rival wearing an M-state visor. What the 17?

right now. Really, we are completely humiliatedFroggy. 8 or 9 straight sellouts, 7-2, and one of our fans happen to go watch your team play on our off week. He makes the Jumbotron because you onlyhave around 10,000 in your stadium. I am curious to know how many State fansthat live in the Oxford area went to the game. If MSU fans are popping up on your Jumbotron on 17ing Homecoming because the stands are empty, I would not come to an MSU message board to ***** about it Froggy. Did this incidentmake you mad? Does this in turn mean that youare going to personally fire up the football team now? Just curious. Keep sticking together man, per your leader Nutt. If I were a rebel fan right now, I would go into hiding, most of your smarter fans already have apparently based on the beautiful Homecoming pics. </p>

that has such a logical excuse for every damn thing that ever happens within their programs. Of course, we understand that all of those things occurred, although I do have to argue that you guys act like it was freakin Alaska on a January night last night when actually, I sat comfortably on my deck in a light pullover golf jacket and watched your game on my TV there. I know Oxford is north of Madison but I doubt it was that much different! Regardless, my point is that the sign of a good, or even average program, is when at least more than 50% of your fanbase shows up for a non-conference opponent, on a chilly homecoming night, regardless of record or what happened the week before. You ***** are so self-absorbed with yourselves that you think rest of us are so jealous. We are gonna kick your asses so bad Thanksgiving that your gonna want to go home and take it out on your hired help.

But I'd say your attendance was low because of option 2. Ole Miss is just a horrible atmosphere in which to watch football and tailgate.

a home coming of sorts for alumni, family, friends? not to get all goodish here, but there are supposed to be University support on homecoming more than any other weekend. did your law school alumni brunch (I'm sure theres something to that tune) have some ******** attendance too?

your whole fan/alumni base is a joke right now and there is no way to play it any other way. being cold and at night is a ******** excuse for showing up to support a team that's probably bustin there *** to do what they can, and your candy *** says it's too cold to show up on HOMECOMING. are you 17in serious.. The University of Mississippi is a joke right now, in all aspects and you know it.

Yeah and to top that all off, they lost their mascot. I laugh every time I think about that school.

I <3 this thread. Nothing like seeing neverending Ole Miss references on a State board.

The reason OM fans don't talk up the state rivalry? Because y'all are just #%$+%!% weird about it.
Regardless, my point is that the sign of a good, or even average
program, is when at least more than 50% of your fanbase shows up for a

You really don't want to compare "programs." This year? Be my guest, but call me when you make two consecutive bowl appearances.
You ***** are so self-absorbed with yourselves that you think rest of us are so jealous.
On what planet are you living? We #%$+%!% blow this year, numbnuts. I think you need to take a step back and realize that you're the dipshit on the high horse this time.

Have a lovely day. :)
