I don't flame MSU fans and I don't roll in the mud on these EggBowlish debates, but I can't help it.

Are the hand motions for that stupid song "gay"? Pretty much, yeah. The tape? I guess so. I have no idea what it means, anyway.

But you ARE the school that not only created the Dawg Pound Rock, but had the good sense to bring it back for a second go-round.

Flame on.

White people are inherently gay when they try to dance...and when they put tape on their hats that says "SNATCH"

bashing the dancing just because it is something to bash. Hell, at our series against LSU, during the only game we won, I watched our team do pretty much the same thing.

So put some credit on the Cubano minor leaguers getting an education down there, who originated the rally dance.

I think most of these things are unique to baseball and that's what makes them interesting, since there really is no endzone type celebration other than a dogpile.

And, yes, the idea of the arm dance is practically identical to the DPR, and I thought both were funny and entertaining.

And it didnt help matters when the espn announcers thought the dancing was so cool and kept talking about it and probably joined in on it in the booth.. but yeah we did the same thing against lsu and it was gay as **** then as well.

This year's Ole Miss team was the one that did the most of that dugout business in comparison to previous Bianco teams, and it was also the most unified Bianco team he's ever had. I really don't think those two things are mutually exclusive. Is it a little silly? Sure. But if it keeps the team into the game, keeps them loose, and allows them to have fun with the game, then it works.

This team was not the most talented team Bianco had, but it won more SEC games than any team he had previously. They won more than I thought they would this year, and I think all that junk played a part in it.

Something that I don't think got mentioned yet is that around the 4th or 5th inning in games, a group of 8 or 10 guys would run down the line to the foul pole and back. When they did got to the foul pole, they had a rock, paper, scissors tournament. Just another stupid tradition, but kept the players loose.

Anything a rival team does is typically thought of as stupid, gay, redneck, etc.. even if their own school's athletes or fans have traditions that can be viewed as equally stupid.

I can tell you that this weekend while sitting in your OF (and having a great time) I would have rather put a gun in my mouth than try to sing "Hotty Toddy" with a bunch of hairy overweight shirtless drunk dudes in your OF like so many of your fans were doing.. but I also realize that you would say the same thing about ringing a cowbell sitting on the top of a rusted '65 chevy pickup truck in State's OF. (/offtopic/ why the significant increase in shirtless men at Ole Miss baseball vs MSU baseball, aren't we the rednecks?)

I love the DPR but I thought your team (and some fans) dancing to fame in the dugout was pretty gay and I respect the fact you will always see it differently.

reminds me of that nerdy fat kid sitting in front of the computer singin that techno ****...also looks like the bastards are pretending to ring cowbells and then they break out in our 2 random band dudes "need more cowbell spastic routine".

DPR, not ghey to me and just to show that its not a bias thing...it was cool when UM played "in the air tonite" and all the band dudes and cheerleaders and crowd hit the drum solos at "the part"...that was pretty cool being a nite game and all. We lost, and i said i would never go back...only to go back 2 years later and see the worst *** raping i had ever seen only to have us match it the next year when jerious ran all over the bastards...

Black dudes doin it = not gay...ie DPR and the "shark" or whatever else. Baseball players in general do gay ****. Only a few baseball players can do stupid **** and it not be gay...paps happens to be the only white baseball player in america that can wear nothing but goggles and unders in front of a packed stadium and the world and do the f'n riverdance...not only do it but start a fad.

"In the Air Tonight" thing? And not related to your post at all and in no way attempting to justify it, but the "Snatch" tape has been going on for at least 4 years. We've lost how many Supers over that period? Perhaps a change is in order.

In the 5th inning in the super regional elimination game with Omaha on the line.. Then by all means enjoy it. But I would be pissed myself with that mess when they need their head in the game.

That...... is..... awful. It progressed from simply bad to "WTF I'm so glad that's not our team" bad.

Of course I say that and Cohen will probably have our guys line dancing next year.

They stole that from Miami. They stole "Sweet Caroline" from the Red Sox. And they tried to steal the Left Field Lounge from us. (At which they failed miserably).

Stealing traditions is gay. Not necessarily dancing.

Get your own traditions.Other than opposing teams dog piling on your pitching mound.

Sorry G. You said flame away.

the fact that they just stole it from another team. Like another poster said though, if you don't mind the fact that your team is doing a dance in the dugout while getting beat in an elimination to go to Omaha then by all means good luck with that. But at least we did the DPR after we scored.

But at 38843 pointed out, not quite as gay as stealing it from another team.

"...well I actually saw Miami do it in the CWS last year."

"Well it's all over youtube now, and everyone is laughing at us."

"At least we didn't play them though, right? Right!?"

I don't think any baseball team has done this yet. I think there are some dance moves that the Ole Miss baseball team can handle.

and it's nothing like yours. I swear, some MSU fans think you invented the idea of watching a game from beyond the outfield fence.

What you do is unique to MSU. If we were bringing in trailers and other things we built to watch a baseball game from the outfield, you could say we were copying your tradition. However, we have terraces where people set up tents and chairs. It's nothing at all like yours, and if anything our outfield set up is copying the way we tailgate for football more than anything else.

Show me somewhere else that does outfield seating just like we do, and I'll tell you we copied it. Until then, you're full of **** with that 'we copied you' ********.

No, if he copies what his teams did at Kentucky, you'll just have players screaming from the dugout during the game.

You really don't get it do you. Would you rather your team be on the edge of the dugout for every pitch watching every pitch, keeping up with the count, and doing silly **** like dancing, rubbing their hats, or other stupid traditions, or would you rather most of them be sitting on the bench quietly relaxing in the shade?

All the stupid **** our team did in the dugout this year forced them to pay more attention to the game than any team we've had in the past, and it also kept the team loose during tense situations all season. We never lost more than 2 games in a row all year due in large part to the fact that our players kept loose with silly **** like the dugout dancing, the "scramble" thing, the rock, paper, scissors tournament, and the domino thing they would do when it was a full count with 1 out.

There is nothing wrong with having fun with the game, especially in a game like baseball. Being a big hardass and being intense doesn't make you perform better. It's one sport where it pays to play loose.

Hell, its almost liike you believe ole miss invented the idea of sitting under a 17ing tree with a tent and a chair prior to a football game. Thats strong internet bruiser.
