In the past we had Jamont, Roberts, Austin, etc... Stans has no clue how to coach offensive team basketball. He has always had a "playmaker" to run the show, which is not a bad thing in CBB. This year MSU has a bunch of role players with no offensive scheme, except to stand around and shoot 3 pointers. This year may have been Stan's worst coaching performance in recent years and really shows how inept his offensive coaching really is. In the past he has made up for this inability with great team defense, rebounding, and hustling, this team does none of those.

My Big problem is that Stans found this 4 guard gimmick and decided to live and die by the 3 pointer, instead of actually instituting a half court offense. We don't have any plays on offense. The "Motion" offense is just an excuse for Stans to cover up his lack of having a half court offense. If we don't score in offensive transition we look just like a church-league team standing around and jacking three's.

Stans looked totally clueless against Auburn.. due to inclement weather according to the NSU AD. I thought they forfeited it? Anybody else heard anything about this?

A. They know Stans is not a very good coach and getting near the end
B. They realize we have now missed the NCAA Tourney 3 of the last 4 years
C. They see us stand around on offense like we're retarded
D. They see we aren't getting the players we used to get
E. They themselves are now wondering why we went to 4 guards when Stewart and others were missing tons of shots while Augustus and Osby were developing
F. They see other schools like SC, LSU, and UPig hiring better coaches as will Bama and Georgia
G. They see the end is near and they know the Ninja is watching

2010 will be interesting

If you think Pelphrey has shown to be a better coach then you are freaking retarded. What do you base that on? Thanks for giving them your kiss of death though Coach. Every other guy you have ever said was better than Stansbury is collecting unemployment or coaching some low level D1 school.
I think Stansbury could have done a better job this year and he damn well better do better next year but every damn SEC coach you have ever claimed to be better has been hated by their own fans and eventually fired.......and that is not just my opinion.

Pelphrey took over an undisciplined program and got them in the Tourney in Year 1. He lost all 5 starters and has the youngest team in the SEC as he is rebuilding. With that, he has wins over two top 10 teams- has Stans ever beaten one top 10 team outside of the conference?

Pelphrey will have to perform next year since his team will now have some experience, and I fully expect him to. I think they challenge for the West title next year.

As far as the other coaches, I always maintained they had succeeded more than Stansbury due to going farther in the Dance, I still maintain that. And if you think Stansbury will get an interview at a program above a juco after he leaves State, you are really out of touch with reality.

And how did the great Pelphrey do against us this year? What is his record? Why don't you ask some Arkansas fans about how they felt about last season. You can bet your *** that losing the West to MSU and then getting put out early in the NCAAs was not considered great for a team loaded with talent and seniors. Just throw him on the junkheap with Barnes, Gottfried, Brady, Odom, and Heath.
I have no issue with you not liking Stansbury. I was pissed at him pretty good saturday but the way you keep parroting that other coaches are better is just...well....retarded.

No matter how I say it....
Funny how not one person disagrees with any of my comments all of the sudden. Where are the Stans supports now? Let's just hope we shoot over 40% from 3 point land against Florida and get a win, b/c we know that Stans is not going to change a thing, or will he. Does he start BJ on Senior night?

I wish we would hold Ricky accountable like other programs do their coaches. Just because our expectations are way below theirs, don't go blowing your trumpet because they got fired:

Heath- NCAA Tourney berths in 2006 and 2007- then fired 2007
Gottfried- NCAA Tourney 5 staright years, NIT 2007, no Tourney 2008, fired 2009
Brady- NCAA's 2005, Final Four in 2006..fired 2008 (during season when Mitchell RS due to injury and Johnson was hurt alot too)
Stansbury- 4 straight NCAA's, no Tourney 2006, NIT- 2007, NCAA- 2008, NIT(maybe)- 2009

If we had the other school's expectations, Stansbury wouldnt be returning either

That you are the only living person that thinks Brady, Gottfried, and Pelphrey are great coaches? Way to not answer my question about Pelphrey too by the way. Every one of those "brilliant" coaches had losing records against our "horrible" coach also. You can pick and choose your way to judge a coach but I prefer going by the head to head records and not off of a tournament that a team had one good run in.

that Stansbury would be fired if we had those other schools expectations. I've never said Brady and Gottfried are great coaches- but they have had great seasons. Stansbury has yet to have a "great" season. Of course you want to compare H2H, its the only way Stansbury comes out on top. Do you want to say Bama's interim coach is better than Ricky, he is 1-0 against Ricky afterall? Lebo swept Stansbury this year- is he now a better coach?

UPig fired Heath after making the NCAA Tourney, you cant compare that to Stansbury. If he was held to the same expectations, he wouldnt have a job either.
Pelphrey doesnt have the body of work yet to judge. He is going through Stansbury's 2006 season. Let's see how he responds the next two seasons and compare.

Even you are smart enough to know that I am comparing head to head records spanning over several seasons and not one game or one season. Then again maybe you aren't. I don't know why I even got involved in this thread. If you flipped the script and Stansbury had a Sweet 16 but losing records to these losers then you would crawfish out of that too just like you do with everything else.
