The timing sucks, as it a big recruiting weekend, but I'm glad it happened now instead of this November/December. There's zero chance he steals any of our current commits other than maybe Montrell Conner - he just doesn't have a relationship with any of them. Had he left next fall for greener pastures, that really could have screwed us.

BTW, his bio has already been scrubbed from the athletic department's website.

...a career assistant coach whose only loyalty is to his bank account.

After I saw this board freaking out over Wilson, I did 15 minutes worth of internet searching to try to figure out what all the fuss is about.

My search taught me nothing (nothing important, anyway).

I'm sure he had some sway with a couple of recruits, but it's Mullen's job to keep the recruits in line while some job-hopping, hair-brained assistant coach runs around trying to sweeten his pension.

In other words, I would not worry about Wilson.

Sounds like to me him leaving is probably the best thing that could happen to a football program that is trying to get serious about winning again.

effective he will be because the kids and the mommas won't know him. That being said I hope Coach Mullen swings for the fences on the replacement.
