My right-wing friends, why no outrage over this teacher?

You were quick to post about the anti-Trump t-shirt from the Boone County system in WV. Well, what about this type of attitude from a person in charge of our youth???

Foreign language teacher Sheri Sapp posted a tweet to her Twitter page saying "Ban Islam. Imagine how much more peaceful the Middle East and the entire world would be with no Muslims."

Not a well thought out statement.

My tweet would look like, "Immigration without assimilation is invasion"

OK....that would be your tweet....however, if you were a teacher, should you be making these "tweets" for all to see? Including your "Immigration" statement? My point being.....if the right-wing accuse the left of attempting to "indoctrinate" the youth in public schools and colleges, then the same holds true to the other side.

Just like the teacher with the Trump t-shirt, this teacher needs to be suspended and have it documented in their personnel files for future employments they may seek.

And before it gets started, I'm FOR the following:

1. Agree we need to have a better immigration screening process....have no problem with a temporary "ban" until we put something in place that would WORK!

2. I agree with assimilation, but not "forceful".....I look at it as more of a courtesy by those coming here, but we owe it to them to be patient and understanding.....English isn't an easy language to learn (experts have said this).

3. Forced political beliefs by educators is NOT what public education should allow.....on either side. That includes teachers wearing anti-Trump AND pro-Trump propaganda to schools.

Yeah, that was another example a while back. And I don't recall much being said about it.....kind of slipped through.....now if it were the opposite, and they bashed Obama and made racists remarks, they would have gotten their job back.....just ask Clay County, WV about that.......;)

The HHS teacher did bash Obama and made racist comments. She was fired.

I'm not going to defend her anymore than I defend Trump. It was stupid no matter what your employment is. I wouldn't even tweet my tweet. I don't get too involved in politics on social media, other than here, because it's mostly anonymous. Becoming a high school level coach, my media has become rather mundane.

The United States ... which consists of every religion you just mentioned
Sure the US is...what's your point? Is it in the name of any religion?

Can you give me a list of Baptist inspired killings...or Methodist inspired killings...or Presbyterian inspired killings?

That's funny. I say the same thing about Christians all the time.

Where self professed Christians are promised to live in eternity I promise you have nothing to worry about being among them.

On the other hand, I suspect you'll absolutely adore your per-arranged accommodations that won't have any Christians around to bug you.

You know, one of the greatest things about this nation is how it grows, changes, and adds layers of culture over the years. No?

I've never put those together. Why is new culture great? Is the American dream and goal tied to new cultures? A melting pot melts down to the same consistency within the pot, not a bunch of clumps of different stuff.

I think one of the most interesting things about this country, especially among the Leftist inhabitants of it is how every other Religion gets a pass except Christianity.

Ah, that's not what I mean. American culture has blended many cultures together into our own unique style. Eastern European culture, for example, has added to WV culture. Italian, Jewish, Irish culture has folded into the American experience, when they once were rejected. African culture has folded into mainstream American culture over the last century, after being repressed for a long time. Assimilation in America, imo, is less of a forced change in either the immigrant or the nation, and more of a blending that at times takes a generation to mix properly. American culture is fluid, and seeing it as unchangeable is missing what makes it great, imo.

This is very well stated, but the Islamic believers mentioned in the Teacher's joke about "banning" them from America do not support ANY of what was stated in this very elegantly worded post.

That's the point. They're not trying to "assimilate" into American culture, they hate it and are trying to destroy it.

ATL, you got to stop with that crap brother. Christianity is and always will be a large part of this nation's fabric, and you know it. I don't want anyone's religion pushed into the space that identifies who we are as a nation. But it will never be pushed out of our communities either. Stop acting like Americans choosing to not suscribe to the Christian faith is an attack on the religion itself. And if you can't see a need to defend someone's right to practice the Islamic faith from reading the post that began this thread.....your vision is warped.

Are you referring to terrorists? I know many Muslim men and women who have immigrated to the US and love this nation, they do hold tight to many aspects of their religion and culture....a natural part of immigration, but their children and grandchildren hold less as they embrace their native nation (America) tighter.....that's the way it's always been.

Yes I'm talking about those folks who are trying to kill us boom because of who we are and what we represent.

Call them whatever you want.

Muslims who come here and accept our diversity and worship Freely without trying to blow us up I have no problem with.

But we're not talking about those folks as a "threat" are we?

They can't be "banned" because of their Faith, that's absurd. If she meant that, then of course she's a whackjob.

I suspect she wants those banned who want to ban us (Americans)
