I think folks need to calm down. I think CJ Johnson comes to MSU. I think Brassell goes to Ole Miss. Who knows with Tobias Singleton? These guys get wishy/washy. All of that eventually calms down and they go where their heart says go. CJ is confused right now, but I think after a few good nights sleep, a visit or call by our staff, and his official visit, he will wind up at MSU. Is anybody shocked that Brassell might go to Ole Miss? They've had South Panola pipelined for years. This is the normal crap that happens every year. We will get ours and they will get theirs. Same as always.

I hear people talk about high school seniors de-committing as if it is a terrible thing (he gave a verbal commitment and now he is going back on his word). It is just a sign of the times. How many people on this board are divorced or have parents that are divorced? Remember the commitment (made by adults not 17 year-olds) to stay married through sickness and health, richer or poorer, better or worse, UNTIL DEATH DO US PART? Yet everybody wants to think a 17-year old who changes college decisions is not a "man of his word". Hypocritical if you ask me.

I do think this is a learning experience by this staff on recruiting in a rivalry state when you aren't a national power (like Florida). I trust Mullen and staff. There's too much information in the internet age.

I'm not surprise. Plus it doesn't matter if they can't get into school. They will be just like all those other 4 and 5 stars guys who signed with Ole Miss. Never saw the field or even the locker room as a player. It's what your signing class looks like come August that matters. February is just bragging rights.

did Brassell ever commit to us in the first place? To get a better "offer" from the Bears? To get his buddy Market some SEC offers? On a whim? Just wish he had never committed to us at all if had no intention of sticking with it.

Really a program like that you would think they would have guysevery where in the SEC. You don't see them. They might be there. The bottom line is this. Ole Miss gets them because the other SEC schools know they are not going to get in and they got the juice so that they don't have to make a big push on them and hope they get in like Ole Miss and State. Lucky for us our two and three stars players turn out to be solid and our program is turning around where Ole Miss has done the opposite despite having won the recruiting battle for the past decade.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Your school is recruiting them also, right?

So evidently your staff thinks they have a shot at getting in or are worth it either way, right?

So it stands to reason that if they can't qualify, are bad seeds, or don't have the talent to see the field, then those same things would occur should they sign with your school.

And you seem to be very concerned about this for someone who thinks Feb is just bragging rights and only August matter.

Generalizing all SP players as dumbasses would be like me generalizing the whole military based on your post.

SP has had guys play for Vandy. There are some sharp ones.

But yall keep talking **** because you are butt hurt. Eventually Market may decide to jump ship considering all the chatter he may read.

There could be a million reasons recruits do the things they do. Maybe some recruits are conniving little bastards? Maybe they are just 17 year olds that get confused when they have one half of the their town in their ear every day telling them what to do and the other half in their ear the next telling them to do the opposite? I'm sure it's tough making a decision thinking from their perspective.

My only beef is the recruits that commit early in the process but remain "open". That's stupid. Quit jerking everyone around and just say you are uncommitted. List a favorite or two if you want. If you truly want to commit, cut off you contact with other programs. If you aren't ready to do that, don't tell the coaching staff you are committed. I'm sure they are always thinking of contingency plans - but it's a dick move to back down on your promise - I don't care how many recruits do it these days.
