Currently have a rib roast in my Weber grill. Drinking Bartons and Ginger ale. Having a great day. I know this time of year is particularly hard on a lot of people. Hope everyone in the NOB is doing well.
My wife cooks a lot with cast iron. Has a neat collection and building. Started a project quite a while ago and it just kinda got put to the side. Got busy... Anywho, made it a point to finish this year. She now has a very cool way to store / display her collection. Thanks to my neighbor, couldn't have done it without him, we have a one of a kind unit she absolutely loves. LED lights to illuminate it. She hasn't realized it yet. But, our kids initials are in the wood work. Very proud of how it turned out.

Gasparilla is named after José Gaspar, a late 18th century pirate. Huge boat parade and festival in Tampa last Saturday of every January. It's pretty cool from what I've seen on TV during my visit there a few years ago.

I’m pretty numb to it all. I’ll watch both games but I’m not expecting any of it to be much fun to watch as the offense absolutely refuses to be productive on either Cats squad. None of those outcomes would shock me.
What does shock me is that the Cats are actually the favorite in both games. Which tells me that despite their records...our 2 opponents today must really suck.

Was José a Johnny Depp type pirate? Or was he more like Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball? Or was he a real life OG pirate like Blackbeard?
Also, in this flotilla that honors José...do they fire cannons at each other? I mean I know they wouldn’t be real cannons but still. I envision hundreds of boats firing fake cannons back and forth, some sort of mock-plundering event of a local “village”, sword wielding & eye patches all around, women being ravaged below deck and all kinds of other wild, drunkard behavior.
