I just watched Vision Quest, again, and I gotta say Elmo’s “Pele” speech is one of the most underrated pre-game speeches of all time. In fact, it could very well be my personal fictional fave (Kurt Russell’s rendition of Herb Brooks’s Miracle On Ice speech is my #1 real speech).
Pelé’s halftime speech in Victory was also inspirational.
Of course the G.O.A.T. inspirational “speech” was also the most succinct. Yes, I’m referring to the three simple, yet immortal, words uttered by Jimmy F#CKING Chitwood...
