Man, i ain't talking about leaving your wife. Ha ha ha. I'm talking about making your kids work. If they are 16, they need to be working.

Oh :joy: my bad. Her kids not mine. Like I said, two of three out of the house very soon. Then they will have to figure it out on their own. I tried to teach them by talking to them, by my example and they are...well they're ****** lazy. Sad when a 7 year old out does two kids over 18.

That goes right back to my point. Your perception is ****. Sorry. It's ****. Hate to tell you that. Confidence and niceness gets the two 18+ out of the house and working. Like i said tough decisions. You are rationalizing. Just so you know. But i deal with rationalization all the time. Mostly people who feel they are victims.

Allabout, if that's all true ( you never can tell on the interwebs, it calling you a liar or anything) then you seem like a pretty solid guy.

Hey, @Kaizer Sosay . 42 days of school left. About to have the longest summer ever.

Keep our friend in your thoughts and prayers and/or tendrils of good feelings. That is all I'll say.

Looking forward to the next two evenings. Best sports days of the year.

Had corned beef brisket for the first time tonight. Good stuff. Not sure what the flavor is. College foodballs, how is that made? Loved it tonight. Something tells me tomorrow morning will be a different story.

Y'all stay up

I just said they are soon to be gone and gonna have to figure it out on their own. I don't believe in kicking kids out of the house before graduation, maybe that's just me. The other one will be gone within the week. I've never been a victim in my life, and never will be. It's not in my nature and goes against everything in me to have others take care of me. I'd rather live on the streets than depend on anyone else, but I'll gladly carry the weight of those I love when needed. I'm a provider, I'm a fighter, I'm resourceful, and I always find a way to make the most out of a bad situation, and I never turn my back on those in need.

Ha ha ha, don't mean to laugh man. You may take it hard. But i am not buying it. It's ********. I call out people all the time for this. It's ********. Kids start working at 16. Period. Even if they are disabled, you make them work. I'm not empathizing with you when you have two kids who could work. Wife might not be able to work. No worries. That's understandable

I don't disagree with you at all. It's the way I was raised. Hell I worked a minimum of two jobs in high school, and at times four during the summer.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't me it drink. The oldest has a job, but could do better and won't, so bye! The middle one graduates in may. Had a job and quit when she was told you won't quit...did anyway. I quit giving a **** about the 18 year old and the 19 year old. I just want them out so my time and money can be focused on my woman and making sure the 7 year old doesn't turn out like the other two lazy asses.

I never had time to pull down a job at 16-18. Academic Team practice 3:30-6PM every evening. Yearbook took up a good chunk of my after school time where I was tech editor for it. There would be nights that I wouldn't get home from school until 8 or 9, and then had my regular homework to do. A job on top of that with the AP tests and ACT test prep I was doing on weekends would have been damn near impossible.

That said, I see Willy's point. If your kid isn't nose deep in a book, put their *** to work.

Earliest I ever got out when I was in school was my senior year in 2003. May 22nd. That summer felt like it took forever to end.

Hey, @Kaizer Sosay . 42 days of school left. About to have the longest summer ever.

Here's to hoping the next 42 days of school are longer ( or at least seem that way) than the upcoming "longest summer ever". I'm talking about no snow days…and multiple IT malfunctions requiring your urgent attention before & after school and on your lunch break on multiple occasions.

#TeamNoSympathy

{{Just kidding, man. Said it before and i'll say it again…you seem like a good teacher and the world needs all of those it can get. And there is no way I could teach at a public school. Not in this day and time. So kudos for being able to handle all of that on a daily basis.}}

{{{{But i'm still going to bust your balls for getting to take 3 months off every year.}}}}

Yeah, i have no means with which to reach out to him other than this site. So pass along to him that i have indeed been praying for him. And tell him i miss busting his balls in the NOB about industrial basketball league stats, dressing up as Cher at a G n' R concert and the like. He's a good dude. He is a good family man. He busts his *** at work and is good at what he does for a living. And he knows his basketball. The NOB was enriched by his presence on many levels. And he didn't deserve that. Just a shame what happened. Ridiculously stupid…and a shame.

I have an idea to put these naughty teachers bobcat finds back to work. A school themed strip club. Instead of a pole dance, it's their teacher's desk. All the seats would be student desks for the patrons to sit at, each stripper/teacher would be brought on and off stage with a classroom bell being rung, Happy hour would be called recess, and once a month one lucky winner of the "Teacher's Pet" raffle would get to bang the teacher of their choice on stage. Since most strip clubs have some type of catchy one word name, I'm thinking we call it, Detention.

Yeah, it's a little reward for putting up with lazy *** ********. So help me god if they were my kids I'd handle it MUCH different.
Been there, done that, too. Very delicate situation. Easy to get into trouble.

The key is be nice, but firm.
