Well if you can't beat him on the diamond, sue the 17 out of him. Paid for by TSUN law school, accepting middle of the road LSAT scorers since before the time Col Reb offended people.

So he can call up 15 and 16 year old boys all across the South and ask them questions like..

"So, does the fact that John Cohen is being sued by a former player factor into your decision any?"

I doubt there's anything to it, but interesting nonetheless.

Also not surprising that yancy is the only person reporting it.

Who the hell gets served papers on a baseball field?
Someone who is the coach of a team that is playing the team that the person who drafted the summons is a fan of.

what cause(s) of action a baseball player, specifically one that played for State at some point during the last two years, could have against Cohen alleging $14 million in damages.

What sucks is slime ball OM lawyers aregetting former MSU students to do this.

meanwhile, their biggest alumn is sitting in a jail cell for bribing judges. great stand up University system they've got there.

TSUN is quickly becomming theUniversity of Frivolous Lawsuits (UFL)... hey, isn't that where Masoli went?

We need to get in touch with Nathan Stanley, Jevean Snead,or Jeremiah Masolipronto and issue a summons to Nutt right before the Egg Bowl for ruiningtheir fictional pro careers.

regarding the claim is thatanydamagesare going to be extremely speculative, and damn near impossible to prove. I assume Moore argues he wasa sure fire pro before Cohen, allegedly, went all RichRod regarding practice time thereby ending his chance at the bigs. I'm sure one of the beatwriters will be at the Clerk's office copying the Complaint shortly.

...I understand players being upset with the way he ran the program, especially players who were being coddled. But first of all, take it like a man and go on. Everybody feels like they have things taken from them at some point in their lives. The second thing I would say is that it is extremely bush league to serve that thing in Oxford before the biggest series of the year.

What a loser.

Just curious how any of you can claim this is an "Ole Miss is out to get us" thing. That is absolutely stupid. Think for a minute.

That being said, the lawsuit by Moore and crew are BS. There are a ton of coaches out there who do what they can to run a kid off. I may be wrong, but isn't Moore the kid that Cohen let throw some ridiculous amount of pitches in a game last season. I realize his family hates Cohen, but damn....move on. $14mil? For what? A sore arm?

You are wrong. Moore wasn't on the team last season.

Seriously, why else would Cohen be summoned/subpoened before a baseball game that just happens to be played in Oxford? To quote you, "think for a minute."

when everyone got their panties in a wad. And it turned out that overuse isn't what caused his injury--it was his changeup delivery.

Yancy is definitely doing this to hurt state. Surely that's pretty obvious...or do people subscribe to his website for the latest on lawsuits involving MSU?

...that may or may not have to do with the kid's attorney, etc. Maybe he does have an Oxford lawyer and it was "convenient" to serve him while he's in town. I don't know. And the fact that Yancy gets a hold of it before anybody else lets you know that some of his "contacts" were in on it.

Regarding Moore, he pitched 35 innings in 2009, and pitched against Vandy late in the year. He pitched 45 in 2008. I don't remember the details. I am sure Todd does.

This could set a precedent that would cost him a fortune with all the Medical Waivers he's given out. Or any coach for that matter. What's next a coach get's sued for inflicting emotional distress for not giving a player enough play time. ButI don't see this case going anywhere, it sounds a lot like the Chaz Ramsey case against Tuberville which went nowhere.

Typical BS from slime ball lawyers. I'm sure Yancy was tipped off to make the most of the situation publicity wise. What a bunch of douches.

Did you see Rosebowl tweeting about OM getting sued by the family of the player who died? It's simply a bush league attempt to put State down.

2008:
Appeared in 19 games as a rookie, four in a game-opening role • Posted a 1-2 record with an 8.14 earned run average and 46 strikeouts in 45-1/3 innings pitched • Made his MSU debut with two innings of scoreless relief work in State’s season-opening win at North Florida (Feb. 22) • Took the hill as a starter in his second outing and earned his first career win with 5.0 innings of work against UAB (Feb. 26) • Fanned five batters and matched that season-best with a five-strikeout showing in a start against Arkansas-Little Rock (Mar. 4) • Also drew starts against Ole Miss (Mar. 14) and Middle Tennessee State (May 7) • Took the loss in starts against UALR and UM • Appeared in eight SEC games, one as a starter, with an 0-1 mark, a 12.96 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 16-2/3 innings • Compiled a 6.32 ERA in 15 relief appearances with 32 strikeouts in 31-1/3 innings pitched • Among four true freshmen and two rookie pitchers to play for State in 2008.

2008 was under Polk.

Yeah, right, it was Cohen that ruined him.

You sign on to play a sport you get injured and now you want to sue because you did what the sport requires a few too many times? What a 17'n *****! It's gonna be hard for this kid to prove any wrong doing...an injury like that doesn't just happen over night. The argument can easly be made that the kid didn't take good care of his arm all the way back in middle school and his injury developed over time...this kid and his folks need their asses kicked. They're the reasons we should take warning labels off stuff, to weed out the stupid people. Sorry for bad grammar, phone pissing me off!

I mean look at that great 8.14 ERA and all..I guess he thought that one day he would wake up and be Tom Glavine. This really surprises me if true with his dad being a 4-year kicker at MSU. The fact is, once Cohen arrived these guys actually had to be college baseball players. Running and lifting in the offseason, doing more than taking infield and BP in practice must have been too much for poor Forrest. Caleb Reed sure looks like the practices are too much for him(insert sarcasm here). My best friend, a prominent player at OM a couple years back, said he was shocked by the lack of work our team would put in under Polk the last few years after talking with friends that played at State. Sorry Forrest, the SEC is a little more difficult than the competition against academy baseball in high school.
