now he's going to have to go to a JUCO, where we can maybe pick him up on the rebound? (I think someone on BDJ referenced that this might happen. If so, this guy would be the anti-Roy McClain)

he had his chance to stay home and pick us. It be different if he wanted to get away and went to a school far off. He can suffer!Same goes forSanders!

I don't know the whole story and he may be a complete cancer, but he was one of the top rated prospects coming out of high school at a position we desperately need play makers. I don't know what our depth chart will look like after he spends a year at a JUCO, but I doubt it will be anywhere near a place where we can tell him no thanks if he wants to come here.

and some want Masoli. I fully understand taking a chance on someone who MAY be a problem but I just think taking on known problems cheapens your program to HS coaches , recruits AND their parents , supporters and on and on. Some of the powerhouses have done it and got away with it to a certain extent but I just think it would have a negative effect on us.

it's a Nafoom rumor, nobody over here is claiming anything. It'd help if you'd actually visit an OM board some time.

that do things "the right way" that aren't any good also cheapens our program to recruits, HS coaches, and parents because we're losing and no one wants to be part of a seven year rebuilding program.

Assuming the rumor is true, really, what's the risk? If we got him, and he acts up or sucks, cut him. If we get him and he does well and helps us out we win to. If you're Dan Mullen you tell him, "We're giving you a second chance, and one thing wrong and you're gone."

And THAT is why you don't take him.....he is a cancer and he is a bust!!! He was over rated simply because of ONE catch in an all-star game.

as you each put on your easter bunny PJ's and slide into your maron and whit sheets tonight.

I don't know anything about the dismissal, but it sounds like he got every chance he could to correct the problem. It is fairly common knowledge Nutt will give the benefit of the doubt in most situations, apparently this one had no doubt left. Later Pat.

the comparisons to Masoli aren't applicable, because Patterson is only a soph. Masoli was a SR that got convicted of a violent crime, Pat is an 19 year old that might have take a while to get adjusted.

There is no harm in watching the kid at JUCO. We all know he's talented enough.

Can you imagine what he could do for Nox recruits if he came to MSU and was successful?

If he performs well with a year in Juco and is a team player while staying out of trouble, then what's the harm in offering the guy a 'ship?

Sometimes a different environment (and different leadership) for a guy can produce vastly different attitudes and motivations. But I'm curious at this point how he'd do with a few weeks of Balis in his ear.

It appears that Pat will play at EMCC or MGCCC this season, then likely end up at USM.

Exactly. Nutt is usually pretty hesitant to cut ties with a player. Take Tig Barksdale for example. The guy may never play a snap for us, but all ties have not been cut yet. They're still giving him the opportunity to get things turned around.

Patterson must have been making no progress. I hate that he's gone, because I think he had a lot of potential with his size and strength out wide. He still needed to learn how to run routes, but he had some tools you can't teach. If I'm looking for a silver lining, it should open up a spot for one of the many big time WR recruits in Mississippi for the 2011 class.

Patty P's dismissal will have no bearing on how many of the WRs in Mississippi will sign with the Rebs. You were getting Brassel, Singleton and Moncreif regardless.

Someone posted a rumour, from nafoom, about a player leaving & that it was possibly (is) Patterson. You must be easily amused?

or get suspended, includingtheir only 5-star and 2 of their four 4-star recruits. Also, several of their 3-star recruits never made it. A true re-ranking of their 2009 class would knock them out of the top 30. On the other hand, MSU's top 23 (ALL of our eight 4-star and fifteen3-star recruits)from our 2009 classmade it and are still on the team.</p>

to goad the conference gods into calling down the fire on the other conference retard program and restore conference retard balance. Prepare yourself, fellow MStaters, for bad news in the near future.

Way to go, MedDuck.

If I used MedDawg with an old password, it logs me into educk.com, which I used way back when we were playing Oregon. Didn't notice I had done that.

From what little I've seen of Singleton, he looks alot like Patterson on the field. Good height, and very good straight-line speed. But that's all I've seen from either one of them. I think that can get Patterson on the field and making a contribution at a school like UM (or MSU), but I don't think he'll be a star. If he goes somewhere like Bama or Florida, I couldeasily see him being buried on the depth chart.

I think Brassel is the real deal on the field, but rumors are he may have some of the same problems off the field his cousin Tig does.
